For the past few months I've been editing the podcast BIPOC Credits With Andy Wong. In it, Andy interviews people who work in Vancouver's film industry to see what it's really like. I wish I had this podcast when I was in film school—it really demystifies different roles in the industry.
I had the opportunity to interview Andy about the podcast.
"Only by sharing stories are we able to understand certain problems that exist in our system". —Andy

Finally, with this I am announcing a new service: PODCAST EDITING & SUPPORT. I can help you set up your audio equipment (based on your budget) to get the most out of your sound, edit together your podcast, provide a mix to get it ready for streaming, and provide some consulting on distribution and marketing. 🎤 🎧

I'm going back 4 years now to this video Brandon and I made about The Love Tree Photography, a talented and warm-hearted wedding photography duo.
The story? An engagement shoot they had done for a client got rained out, so they return again for the couples' 1-year wedding anniversary. It's certainly not a "basic" photoshoot by any means—we canoed and hiked until we got to a beautiful waterfall!
Although I've learned a lot more about brand documentaries since this, I still feel happy with this little video and story. I love how you really get to know The Love Tree as people and get an insight into what it might be like hiring them for your wedding. This is what makes brand documentaries so powerful: you can show your prospective clients and collaborators who you are in a way that other mediums can't.

It's been common since the pandemic started to see cut out paper hearts taped in people's windows, with phrases like "We're in this together". While I was biking yesterday, I saw a new one: "Are we there yet?" It's probably a question a lot of us having been asking...and to me it seems like we're ALMOST there. Almost "back-to-normal", or rather, our new normal.
Although we're able to see more people now and can feel a bit better now that vaccinations are underway, loneliness will still be an issue for many: pandemic related or not. Because of this, I love how loneliness became a topic for us in one of our Real Talk episodes this season.
Real Talk is a resource with information about love, sexuality, dating, and relationships for people of all abilities and experiences.
You can check out the full video I created with the Real Talk team and interviewees below.

Real Talk, a resource for candid conversations about relationships, sexual health, and intimacy, has released the series of videos we worked on together this year. It was a slightly different format than normal: instead of filming two people having a conversation together the interviewees answered questions I fed them from behind the camera. I also interviewed some of the participants over zoom.
This season of videos features a lot of topics directly related to the pandemic, like how to deal with loneliness and navigate the world of online/virtual dating. Here, Charlene addresses how to tell someone you're interested in them online.

"Serisa 26", a film Rheanna worked on two years ago, is now available to view online. Recently screened at Cinema Spectacular, "Serisa 26" features an artist Brandon and Rheanna met while working on an event promo video for the Vines Art Festival.
