Hey everyone! I have been working hard to find a creative way to express myself lately, aside from music, and I am super excited to announce this new merch line.

In a world that is ever changing, as artists, we are always looking for authentic ways to express ourselves and find ways to come together as a community.

Say No To The Status Quo is built on the belief that true change starts when we challenge the norms and embrace individuality.

My mission is to empower people and communities to break free from societal expectations, inspiring bold self-expression and meaningful impact. Together, we can champion the voices of those who dare to be different, encouraging everyone to rewrite their own narratives. By choosing to support one another and stand against conformity, we can shape a future driven by innovation, diversity, and unity.

I have read a lot of really stupid s**t the last 24 hours, but this has to take the cake and I just could not be quiet about it.

Somebody posted that politics has no place in electronic dance music, they happen to be in the techno community as well and said if people talked about politics that it would look bad to promoters, venues, agents, and so forth. They basically were saying, don’t talk about politics because you might not get gigs. Here’s what I have to say to that, know your history!

These are a series of quotes from an article called, “ Politics are an integral part of dance music, here’s why” by DJ Mag that Harold Heath wrote in 2019 When I first started creating techno music somebody in my community told me that if you’re going to play techno, and if you’re going to make techno know your history. Study it, And I did!

“To deny the place of politics in dance music is to reap the benefits and pleasures of LGBTQ and black and Latino US culture, whilst simultaneously diminishing and white-washing what that culture stands for. “

if you’re telling people to “keep politics out of music”, you’re missing the point .

I would not be doing what I am doing without the struggles that techno and house music were born of and I will never keep politics out of my music or be quiet when it comes to my marginalized brothers and sisters in my community. To the person who said to leave politics out of dance music, in particular techno maybe you need to learn the history.

Today has been a strange day, one of looking inward, and in the mirror, even a few tears as I write this and accept the fact that I am older in a young persons game. It’s hard not to compare yourself these days. It’s frustrating even. Let’s be honest, There’s so many fem DJs out there that can’t mix for s**t, yet they are young, have the look, and it is why they get booked.

In a world that has us looking through rose colored glasses, there are few people that are truly themselves and it’s frustrating and sad really.

I personally have never fit into society, I have never been the girly girl, I have never been one for small talk, doing my hair and makeup, and I definitely have never been one to conform. It has historically left me on the outside looking in, feeling awkward, like maybe I should try harder. But this morning, when I woke up, I realized, who am I trying harder for? So today, is the day I say f**k it!

This is me!

I may not be the most marketable face, my wrinkles are becoming more prominent, I don’t have the greatest body, and I am definitely not what society thinks a woman should look like in order to move upward in this so-called industry. It took me 50 years to find this gift of being able to bring joy to people’s lives through music, and I am grateful every day I have and for that I will not apologize!

I can only promise this… you can damn well guarantee that I will throw my heart and soul into it every single f**king time I play and produce a track and at the end of the day, that’s all that matters.

So, today is an awakening of sorts, an acceptance of the rebel I am and the woman and artist I have become as a result of my this journey and your support and I don’t know any other way to be and honestly trying to be anything else would be inauthentic.

So, Here’s to the rebels, the non conformist. This is me and I see you!! ❤️ Say No to The Status Quo
