Two hours of freeform international sounds, from the traditional to the ethereal. Tonight. 10PM - midnight (west coast time). On KSQD 90.7 FM Community Radioand ksqd.org.
Episode 3 of ‘A Global Experience’ on KSQD 90.7 FM Community Radio is up on the Mixcloud. The second hour digs deep into some pedal steel guitar from 1980s Africa … a glorious era for juju music and its use of pedal steel.“FUSION. THE LOST ART”The song the caller is asking about is Casiopea’s “Space Road” - a track from their 1979 self titled debut. The song almost didn’t make the cut for this episode. Certainly glad it did. A true Santa Cruz moment. Link in bio.

Bandcamp is poppin’ off today. In a year of utter bullsh*t, they have been a positive force. Their move to waive artist and label fees (again) today (initially to support those impacted by COVID) has turned into a giant mix of activism, donation, awareness raising, and beautiful music. Here’s what I’m doing at the label:
1. All proceeds from Jim McHugh’s (Sunwatchers) ‘For Big Floyd’ will go to Reclaim The Block, a Minneapolis community organization investing in community efforts and encouraging divestment from policing.
2. All proceeds from ‘My Body ‘Tis Of Thee’ will go to NARAL Pro-Choice America and the fight for reproductive freedom.
3. Label revenue from all other releases and t-shirts will go to Gideon's Army here in Nashville. For the sake of transparency I will add that “label revenue” applies to the Centripetal Force cut of sales. We have royalties and other revenue sharing agreements with artists we have to keep.
Thanks for your support.

Tonight The Machete Dreams
If I never moved to Nashville and happened to stumble upon the then forming WXNA crew, I wouldn't be able to make an announcement like this today. After all, it's through Psych Out on WXNA that my vision for Centripetal Force was really solidified. And without Psych Out, it's unlikely that I would have forged this kind of relationship with Holy Moutain Top Removers. So, without further adue, I'd like to announce that...
Preorders are now available for the vinyl edition of the new album from Holy Mountain Top Removers, Tonight The Machete Dreams. Limited to 275 copies. Get yourself over to https://machetedreams.bandcamp.com/ and reserve yours today!
Djinn Aquarian (Source Family/YaHoWha 13) at Far Out Nashville last night.
An infrequent and satisfying appearance from Sunburned Hand of the Man at Milwaukee Psych Fest this past weekend.
In a world of algorithms, corporate radio, oversized arena shows, and the increasing struggles of independent artists, donating to @wxnafm can go a long way in ensuring that community focused efforts keep thriving. It means more in studio performances. It means more support for local and independent music. Support for small record labels and recoding studios. Support for small businesses and non profits. It means you can help make a difference. Pledges today during my show will be matched by Nashville Omnichord Supply Co.. And then I'll match pledges during Andy's metal show. Cave was quite mesmerizing at Soft Junk last night. Good crowd. The new material sounded great live. Will get some on the program this week.
Sugar Candy Mountain locking into a monster motorik groove last night in Nashville. Great show. Thanks, Nashville Psych Alliance, for making sure these things happen.
