Sara Qardan is the founder of EquiSJQ, Jordan’s first specialized equine massage therapy and rehabilitation service, established in 2022. EquiSJQ introduces a new approach to horse care in the Kingdom, emphasizing injury prevention and addressing muscle issues before they become serious problems.
Qardan’s passion for equine therapy began when she noticed her own horse struggling with muscle issues and was unable to find a local solution. Determined to help, she traveled to the US to become a certified equine sports massage therapist in 2023. Upon returning to Jordan, she set out to educate the equestrian community on the importance of this therapeutic approach.
At AlSaheel Equestrian Center, Qardan now cares for 15 horses, offering maintenance sessions designed to keep them healthy and prevent injuries. Through her expertise, she is transforming how horse owners in Jordan approach injury prevention and rehabilitation.
At the heart of Palestinian culture lies a rich tapestry of traditions that have endured the test of time. For Marihan Khoury, a lawyer, artist and therapist, preserving this heritage is a personal passion and responsibility. Through her art gallery project, Darnah (meaning “Our Home” in Arabic), Khoury is safeguarding Palestinian identity by passing on its artistic and cultural legacies to future generations.
