ABOUT ANALOGUE

Editor in Chief, Nick Lyons first conceived the idea for the magazine in November of 2013. Nick has worked as a freelance writer for publications such as Monday Magazine, Beatroute Magazine, and Culture Vulture Magazine for the past four years. While Nick enjoyed the opportunities Freelance Writing provided, he

wanted to create a magazine which focus rests entirely on Victoria's bountiful cultural milieu: along with a board of directors consisting of Benji Duke, Graham McDonald, Mercedes Batiz-Benet and Marc Pinkoski, and a host of local writers, artists, scholars, photographers and historians, he did. analogue's first issue launched at a party hosted by the Copper Owl on December 1. Hank Pine, the subject of our magazine's first feature, performed to a near capacity crowd of local arts and culture lovers: three quarters of the donations raised at the event went directly back into local arts--- namely, to Pine and his amazing band. analogue's inaugural issue was released as a trial run of 250 copies: Victoria's response to analogue's refreshing focus on local arts and culture has been overwhelmingly positive. analogue strives to create community between disparate local businesses, artists and non profit organizations. We love Victoria and we want to make it better by organizing local talent into a cohesive community.
