When Entenmann's discontinued its chocolate-cream filled chocolate chip crumb cake, I have to admit I was very sad. Today, I began my quest to recreate it.

Here is my first shot, adapted from a recipe that I found on the internet. There are a few tweaks for the next incarnation in the works already. I have yet to taste all of the components together. I will keep you posted.

Lekach is an Eastern European honey cake usually made by Jews to celebrate Rosh Hashanah. I made it because I had a lot of honey in the house. I will update how it tastes after it cools off.

If you’re a fan of the Stanley Tucci show Searching for Italy, then you’ll recall Salsa Alla Maria Rosa- a dish his mom learned to make when they lived in Italy. Wouldn’t you know, I found it in one of the two Tucci cookbooks that I own. I made it today and it rocked!
