The Obsession for Success
What is obsession? Where does obsession come from? Is someone born with an obsession, or is it something that is learned and realized as we stumble and navigate through life? Like most things, its a combination of both. Now, obsessions can be healthy or detrimental. I can say I have seen both sides of that coin, and I think most can relate in one way or another. Define it as passion, or addiction, or however you need to in order to understand the concept, but I believe that everyone is born with a purpose, and a desire to achieve that purpose and find themselves.
Now define success. This will be completely variable depending on who you are. Success to you may look like making a significant amount of money each year, living in a large home with expensive cars and draping high end fashion over your body. Maybe a Rolex or a Cartier bracelet or two. Success may mean achieving the highest heights of your particular profession, and gaining notoriety, possibly even fame. But I don’t believe that that is an accurate definition when it comes to having a successful life. Yes, money, notoriety, and nice things are markers and key in tracking your progression as you make your way up the ladder, but ask yourself this. On your deathbed, what will you be thinking ? Will money and status be how you define the level of success that you achieved? I disagree. I think the questions you ask yourself should be; Was I happy? Did I love and impact the people around me in a positive way? Did I allow myself to be free and open about who I was and what I was passionate about? Did I take risks? Did I define my life around what my soul desired, and not by what society has claimed I should desire? Can I die right now knowing that I used the gift of life to express myself fully in everything I did and to everyone I came into contact with? Did I truly live? If you can answer yes, then you’ve played the game called life and you’ve won. And to me that is the definition of success.
The podcast Obsessed for Success with Anna and I is, at the surface, an entrepreneurial podcast. But the term entrepreneurial means a lot more than just being a self made business owner. To us, entrepreneurship is the pursuit of happiness, and doing what you love to the point to where you can support yourself and the ones you love, and inspiring others around you to do the same. Our podcasts each week will document our trials and tribulations, the ups and downs, and the failures and successes that we go through within our own individual journeys as independent entrepreneurs, as well as together in our joint pursuit to create a successful podcast with valuable and interesting content that reaches the ears of millions. The mind, body, and spirit balance is incredibly important when pursuing ones dreams, so we will be including all the information we have and will learn (in regards to the physical and mental demands) that will be necessary to achieve success. Our goal is to give back to those around us within our community, our country, our planet, and do for them what our role models have done for us. Hopefully, if your still reading this, you are intrigued to listen to our story as it unfolds and take home value from our conversations and interviews, and pursue your own dreams and turn them into your reality. To help others reach the excitement, freedom, and peace that were currently experiencing, is why we have created this podcast. This is why we are Obsessed For Success.
