I had a pretty clear vision of how I wanted this to turn out, I knew the lighting was going to be a challenge, harsh at times, mostly dim with dark shadows but intense highlights; perfect for what we wanted to create.

My buddy James races drag bikes with a long history in the sport coming from his father.
Last year he suffered a huge motorcycle accident which risked his life and this event was his first race back in the hot seat.
I wanted to telll his story, doing what I love, through film.

One of the most important parts of creating an epic video is the planning process. This includes your storyboard, your shot list, your timings and all of the practical aspects of the video shoot. In order for the shoot to run smoothly, you need a plan, take your time with this, the more detail that’s put in to the planning, the more streamlined your shoot will be.Step 2: The TeamYou’re only as strong as you weakest link. Bringing people together that compliment each others skillset is a fundamental aspect of any successful video production. Step 3: Have FunIf you don’t love what you do, your work will reflect that - period!Step 4: Shoot with the edit in mind, it goes for any video production, big or small, and this is made significantly easier with good pre-production.
