Great Day WOWriors!

On this World Food Day with the theme, "Water is Life, Water is Food. Leave No One Behind", the purpose of selecting this theme is to draw attention to how vital water is to our existence. Water is a valuable resource that sustains livelihoods in addition to aiding in food production.
Hence, we need to stay hydrated since human bodies are constituted of 50% water.

The opportunity to accomplish "Zero Hunger," the second Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), comes with World Food Day. The day promotes the establishment of policies and programs against the problems of global hunger by governments, policymakers, stakeholders, and other organizations. It serves as a reminder to promote sustainable agriculture to guarantee that everyone has access to sufficient, wholesome, and safe food. This day also contributes as a reminder to our WOWriors that could help in maintaining their Holistic Well-being which can be the catalyst of their productivity towards the company.

Assalamualaikum and Great Day, WOWriors!

World Heart Day is an opportunity for everyone to stop and consider how best to use heart for humanity, for nature, and for you. Beating cardiovascular disease (CVD) is something that matters to every beating heart. Aligned with the 'Holistic Well-being' under the 'Physical' element, it is important to have a good lifestyle that could improve our cardiovascular and at the same time could contribute to better productivity in the company.

On 21 & 22 March 2023, Group Health, Safety, System and Environment (GHSSE) in collaboration with UMW Training Academy (UTA) organized a Basic Occupational First Aid Training at Kota Permai Golf and Country Club, Shah Alam. A total of 28 WOWriors joined the two days training sessions that were conducted by Academy of Safety and Emergency Care (ASEC) Sdn. Bhd. The comprehensive training emphasized on the emergency procedure that can be carried out immediately should there is any injury or sickness occurring in the workplace. This includes hands-on training which provides plenty of practical sessions that are modified to comply with the Infection Prevention Control (IPC) or standard precaution.

Participants were exposed to the common cardiovascular and other body systems that are responsible for the death in Malaysia. The importance of defibrillation in reviving the victim was also covered in the training where the participants themselves were given the chance to learn more and be more familiar with the defibrillator. It is undeniable that there are always dangers to one’s safety and well-being especially in the workplace with high-risk jobs or even when working in the office, hence why first aid training is an essential skill for staff in the workplace. These sessions in addition to the standard first aid skills, will enable them to be prepared in carrying out their role as a First Aider in our Emergency Response Team. Group HSSE would like to applaud all participants that has successfully completed the training and passed the examination.

Great Day WOWriors!

Thank you to those who joined yesterday's Energize UMW's HIIT session. We hope you did feel energized while having fun with your colleagues.

Other than that, we actually want to applaud you for staying till the end even though it was intense for Beginners! TOOT THE HORN for you WOWriors!

Assalamualaikum dan Salam Sejahtera WOWriors!

Kementerian Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia akan menganjurkan Sambutan Hari Kebangsaan dan Hari Malaysia pada tahun ini. Sambutan Hari Kebangsaan akan diadakan pada 31 Ogos 2022 di Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur dan akan dimeriahkan lagi dengan penglibatan GLC/GLIC dan Sektor Swasta dalam Perarakan Hari Kebangsaan.

Sehubungan dengan itu, seramai 25 WOWriors telah terpilih mewakili Kontinjen UMW untuk memeriahkan lagi sambutan Hari Kebangsaan pada tahun ini dan menyuntik semangat patriotisme yang bertemakan “Keluarga Malaysia, Teguh Bersama”.

Various data have spoken: paper is robbing us of our environment, productivity and the company's wallet.

So, what have we discovered?

Paper doesn’t have to come at such a high cost. While a 100% paperless office might not be possible, implementing this "paper-light" approach is a good start.

Join the journey, think before you print.

Go Digital. Go Paperless. Go Green.
