After months of searching, the Borough of Hellertown has hired former Lower Merion Township Police Department officer James “Jim” Baitinger to be its new police chief. Baitinger was sworn in and introduced at Monday’s Hellertown Borough Council meeting.

Hellertown Community Day was held in Dimmick Park Saturday. Attendees enjoyed opening ceremonies, live musical performances, demonstrations, costumed characters, food and giveaways from dozens of local businesses and organizations that staffed vendor booths at the event, which was held from 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.
