Hey, stranger 👋

It's been a little quiet around here lately, we know. And we're sorry, too. It's been an incredibly turbulent year for us, in all honesty - so I wanted to give you a few updates on where Mind Cafe stands at the moment.

Firstly, we're not planning on publishing any new print titles for a while. It turns out, running a magazine is incredibly expensive (who knew, eh?), and since our partnership with a certain media company ended, we simply don't have the budget for print at the moment.

'At the moment' is the key phrase, however. I'm working on it - and there are certainly ways and means to get the ship sailing again, we just need to figure out the best course of action to take.

What can you expect from us until then?

Well, we still publish daily over on Medium, so there are tonnes of articles over there to sink your teeth into. That, and our online courses and previous magazine issues are available in our bio.

Oh, and we'll be back to posting on our socials regularly, so keep your eyes peeled here, too.

All that leaves me to say is thank you for your continued support, and watch this space for any updates on the print front.

- Adrian

‘And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what the storm’s all about.’ - Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore

“Baggage gets heavy. Ignoring it makes it heavier. But being vulnerable not only with others but with yourself, most importantly, is vital when it comes to making change and peace. Don’t be so vulnerable that you cast away all of the things you’ve learned. But don’t think you know everything, either. Don’t think that you’ve learned what’s truly best for you just yet. You’ll continue to learn more from others about what it means to live well, but by remaining vulnerable and curious, your growth as an individual will continue."

‘On my darkest day, I hazily remember standing in line at my local pharmacy and crumbling to the ground, crying. The pharmacist who helped lift me off the floor and gave me a referral to my therapist is someone I now consider an essential part of my community. The barista who wrote smiley faces on my coffee cup when I’d come in through my burnout also became an essential part of my community. The people I’ve never met but with whom I share interests on social media are an essential part of the things that make me happy and keep me sane.
In the midst of it all, it is crucial for us to remember that the universe has given us nothing better than companionship. Being alone does not essentially make a person lonely, but the perception of being alone does. Loneliness leads to distress and dysfunction in the body and, thus, can be diagnosed as a disease entity. Like all diseases, it worsens when fed into - but companionship is the remedy that can break the cycle.’

A simple three-step guide to mindfulness:

1. Take one long, deep breath in.

Life, in its infinite confusion and chaos, is merely a collection of individual moments, each strung together by our conscious awareness. The key to a more fulfilling existence, therefore, is to learn to appreciate each of these moments with total, mindful awareness.

Our Story

Inspired by a desire to share information about personal development with the world, Mind Cafe was established in 2018. Then and now, one goal underpins our every action as an organization. That is, to teach people how to live happier lives, as simply as possible.

In the pursuit of creating something worthwhile, something that could help to transform the lives of people in need of support, Mind Cafe was born - a creative space through which all people could discover their full potential. Now, almost two years later, our organization has attracted over 80,000 subscribers, 2,000,000 monthly views and features in some of the literary world’s most prestigious publications.

Our team is rapidly growing as we launch many new and exciting projects, from YouTube channels to print magazines and speciality coffee. But no matter how far-reaching this organisation becomes, our mission statement will always remain the same: to help people of all ages, backgrounds and disciplines to discover the keys to contentment. And with those keys, unlock a lifetime of happiness.
