**SANGRE DE MUÉRDAGO NEW ALBUM NEWS!**

We’re delighted to share the premiere of a new single from Sangre de Muérdago today. As one of our 2023 artists in residence this Galician ensemble will perform three times across the Roadburn weekend; one of those performances will be centred around their brand new, upcoming album O VENTO QUE LAMBE AS MIÑAS FERIDAS.

For over 15 years Sangre de Muérdago have been crafting their intimate and distinctive take on folk music; the upcoming album will be their sixth full length. Their thoughtful missives look backwards towards the musical heritage that has helped shaped them, but they have one eye on the future and how these sounds and stories will be remembered in years to come.

The single we’re sharing today is taken from that album, and is titled Wo sich Fuchs und Hase gute Nacht sagen. As Sangre de Muérdago main man Pablo C Ursusson tells us, the song holds a personal meaning for him:

[This is] a song that was initially born after getting to know the news of a person killed for their sexual orientation in a town I call home. Yet the song is lyrically written through the eyes and wishes of different animals, I hope the deep meaning of this song comes through the words and melodies in it found. An embrace to diversity, that everyone that has been feeling “different” does it with confidence and conviction.
"There shall be no burden in our heart choices, we owe to ourselves to trust the signs that our hearts are giving us. So, let's live our lives in plenitude, respect and honour each other, free ourselves to live and love and feel our own way, no matter what anybody could think about it. There's only one way to feel different, which is the good way. In loving memory of all victims of hatred, regardless of their species, and dedicated to all those who dare to try to reach the impossible to turn it into possible.”

Pre-orders for O VENTO QUE LAMBE AS MIÑAS FERIDAS will be available in due course, and the album will be released via the band’s own labelMúsica Máxica, as well as Throne Records and Neuropa Records.

On this day 8 years ago, Unearthly Trance released their debut compilation album 'Ouroboros' through Throne Records Official (12 December 2014)!

As Ryan (guitars / vocals / noise) puts it: "Ouroboros is a compilation of songs that were originally released only on analog formats throughout the career of Unearthly Trance, as well as a few unreleased songs. There are a couple of recordings on this release that were done in proper studios but most were done with primitive recording gear or in less than ideal environments. The driving force for these non-album tracks was the D.I.Y. spirit which was always a major part of the Unearthly Trance ethos. Ouroboros serves as a perfect digital documentation of exactly that idea.

I can confirm vinyl pre-orders will go live December 2nd for both Trisagion and They Became the Falling Ash. Interestingly, that date is exactly a year since Trisagion premiered.

It feels strange to me being here a year later after an album that was made by design to be my su***de note. I couldn't be more proud of it, and proud of the fact I'm still here despite the circumstances that led to me feeling like there was no way out.

In that last year I've lost many friends to a variety of circumstances - many preventable. I realize those who gravitate towards my music are more inclined to have felt the weight of mental health problems among other issues like addiction, chronic illness, looking for reprieve from the pain.

For those with energy to spare, don't just wait for your friends to reach out to you. Check they're alright. Respond with compassion no matter the circumstance. Though I may live in regret for the occasions I didn't take to check in with my friends who are no longer with us, I'm proud of them for fighting as hard as they could in their battle and for being a part of my life. For anyone else out there, hell, I'd sooner you took the time to message me than think you're alone.
