Greetings;
Many thanks for your support of Spandana. Thus far we have published two issues that have been well-received by our international readership. Now, we are working on Spandana lll.
We have published the works of nearly fifty writers, poets, painters, photographers, scientists, sculptors, and other creators. We have interviews with, and essays by, creators who represent various art forms and genres including dance, painting, Klezmer, Jazz, Blues, literature, and more.
Our contributors represent an array of experiences, cultural backgrounds, and countries that include Belize, Greece, Guinea, Jamaica, Italy, Quebec, Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Iceland, France, Mexico, and the United States.
We have had the honor of publishing the works and words of legendary and inspiring creators including Cadex Herrera, Barbara Barefield, Chandra Washington, Henry Dumas, Deitra Farr, Pinkie Gordon Lane, David Witter, Shyretha Brown, Sam Kelly, Natu Camara, Mark Worden, Henry Miller, Art Ensemble of Chicago, Anne Shulenberger, Yale Strom, Gloria Buckley, Gianni Franchi, Eugene B. Redmond, Scott Cashman, Luis Rodriguez, Michael Limnios, and many others.
Forthcoming, the tradition we are building will continue with thought-provoking contributions that will include architecture and design; in-depth conversations with contemporary, and ancestral Blues and Jazz artists; essays in science; and a wide range of literary and visual arts.
This is our third fundraiser. I’m very appreciative of the support we have received since we began the Spandana project during the quarantine period of the Coronavirus pandemic. It was a tough period for all, and I can’t thank you enough.
