POV: you chose the narrow road and now you’re living in your own apartment in the middle of Europe, making up to 5-figures a month in your social media management business, travelled to bucket-list places such as Italy, and reaping the rewards of the price you paid to stay on the long and narrow path to God given success.

Once you realise that the only way to live a fulfilled life is through being comfortable with discomfort - you’ll enter into a new and beautiful world.

Everything I had to say no to get to where I already am has been 100% worth it.

The only reason I GET TO live the life I’m living now is because of continuously choosing to not be tempted by short-term pleasures and rather build for long-term gain.

“Why would you not choose the hard path because it’s the only path that truly defines character and the only path that in turn has heavy rewards.” - Alex Hormozi

I’ve found these words to be so true in my own life.

Don’t be fooled by the world telling you “do what makes you happy”, worst piece of advice ever. What makes you happy at 9 in the morning may not make you happy at 5 o’clock in the evening.

Happiness is a temporary feeling and is a smokescreen 💨

Happiness is a little “high” you get in the moment and wears off the next day when you’re confronted with where that false sense of happiness has gotten you.

My point: the reason success never comes your way is because you live by your emotions, you believe those ridic worldly sayings that are based entirely on selfish motivations, ambitions and desires. Whenever something serves only YOU just know it’s not in the will of God for your life.

The only way I got from broke to 5-figure months was through making decisions that went against what my emotions wanted in the moment. So it was very hard but when it pays off, it’s very worth it.

“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few people who find it.” - Matthew 7:13-14 ✝️

From the age of 23 I started making a lot more money than I was ever used to running people’s and businesses social media accounts.

However, it wasn’t always that way.

Before that, I was used to friends paying for me on multiple occasions because I didn’t have any money.

And then, one day, all of a sudden, I was tripling my day job salary.

However, I quickly noticed that I wasn’t happy and it confused me…

“Why am I feeling this way now that I have a lot more?”

Low-key, I missed how I felt when I barely had any money because there was no money in my bank account to worry about 😅

You know that saying; “more money, more problems”?

I never understood that saying until then.

The more money I had in the bank, the more pressure I felt to keep it.

And let me tell you why it felt so heavy…

It became my idol.

I was so scared of losing it that I held onto every single penny. I counted every single penny. I’d stress and strive over every single client because they became my source.

And before you know it, it turns into greed.

Why? Because money becomes all you can think about. It consumes you because when you make people the source, you have to keep running back to them.

Money became my master.

A few months after that, I lost every single client and was left with one. I was left with the same peanut salary I started with at my day time job.

Moral of the story: when Jesus is not at the centre and you keep leaning on your own understanding, eventually you’ll crumble and fall.

When you have nothing higher than yourself leading you and guiding you and most importantly keeping you sane and at peace, you’ll sabotage your success as quickly as you got it.

I’ve made 6-figures over the past 14 months which feels crazy to me! 🤯

All this running social media accounts for a living. I’ve been doing this for the past 3 years and have I’ve never looked back.

Social media management has changed my life!

I cannot express the gratitude I feel towards my younger self for stepping into this with God and following His guidance.

Had it not been for me following His guidance, I probably still woulda been living in lack.

The gains have been great but the process has been uncomfortable. However the discomfort has brought such fruit into my life.

God has really been showing me the beauty in discomfort. The beauty in doing things despite how you feel. The beauty of commitment!

Success is a narrow road 🛣️ because it’s a road that requires you to lose things in order to gain better things.

It’s a road that knocks you to the ground enough times to make sure you’re ready to handle what success brings.

But most importantly it’s a road that makes you realise you need something bigger than yourself to even make it worth your while.

I can confidently say that if you’re not walking this road with God, don’t even waste your time.

It’s a miserable road to walk without Him.

“More money, more problems”

It’s a cliche phrase but it’s a common phrase for a reason. It’s truth.

It’s the first thing that hit me smack bang in the face when I started making more money than I ever made before.

“Oh s**t, I actually have to maintain this lifestyle and make sure I keep getting more”

It’s a heavy burden to carry and a STRESSFUL one. Go listen to your favorite gurus that are not faith based, they’ll tell you that stress will have to become part of your norm as a successful entrepreneur.

This is the number one reason why most rich people are depressed, suicidal and are not happy.

There’s a supernatural grace, strength and peace God brings when you put Him first in what you’re trying to build.

And only He can make you rich without adding any sorrow to it.

“The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” - Proverbs 10:22 ✝️

While I was in Amsterdam enjoying my birthday this past weekend, I passively made $700.

No hours of work were put into that, I literally made that money in my sleep.

How???

I have a personal brand.

Besides for the social media agency that I have where we run the social media accounts of businesses (pssst, if you want to learn how to do that too, slide in my DMs), I also have my personal brand here on Instagram where I post about my life and my story.

I make money for simply being me and sharing my journey with you guys.

I’ve been able to turn my skills and what I have knowledge in, into a digital product that people WANT to buy because they want to live the same life.

Truth is, anyone could be doing this in 2024.

It’s probably the most profitable thing you could do and it’s basically completely passive.

Transparency post; When I look back within my own life, I remember being in a viscous cycle of financial lack year in and year out at one point. It’s almost like the harder I tried to get out of it, the deeper I remained in it.

I realise now that was because my lack was a result of toxic/unhealthy patterns that needed uprooting from within myself.

The life I’ve been able to build for myself now has been a result of the fruits I cultivated while addressing patterns within myself that needed to go for better to be invited in.

I got rid of these patterns by inviting God into the wounds that needed healing and the things I had infront of me that needed better stewardship.

My financial lack was only supposed to last for a season but without realising it, I had made it my destination because of the denial to things that needed to be removed.

Far too often we compromise and settle for a life that keeps us comfortable instead of fighting for one that sets us free.

And I say fighting because it will be a fight to get to better, to get to abundance and to get to an upgraded version of ourselves and our lives. There will be a lot of inner battles that we will need to fight because we will need to become someone we haven’t been before in order to live a life we’ve never had before but let me tell you one thing, the reward tastes so sweet!

I know this because I’m currently living in part of that reward and I’m still on the journey to receiving the fullness of that reward 🎁

I only bought a tripod a month ago and a mic a few days ago. This just goes to show that you don’t need fancy equipment or state of the art quality to make money online.

I literally quit my job at 23 years old because the money I made online sustained me enough to do so 😅 and that without a laptop, latest phone or equipment.

So there’s literally no excuse for you to not get started if you’ve been wanting to do this.

My very first client paid me $400 (R7500) per month for social media management and I did it all on my phone. I didn’t know how I was going to do it but I knew that if I didn’t start somewhere, I would never actually do it and so I did it scared.

I created a vision board, I saved the little money I got to pay for training material to make money online, I watched these trainings after working 8 hours at my 7-3 job, I created content in my only free time which was on the weekends and my greatest power was working with what I already had infront of me.

We often pray for chairs and tables but God has already given us the trees to make them.

He’s waiting for you to make the chair with the trees He has given you.

My “tree” was my phone. I literally started my online business with nothing more than an old iPhone because that’s all I had.

I could’ve prayed and waited for a laptop, a proper tripod and equipment all I wanted but if I did nothing with the “tree” I already had (which was my phone) then I would still be broke today.

This simply means that we can’t cry out for more when we haven’t even started with what we have.

It’s in the going that more can come your way and that’s exactly how my story played out.

God blessed me with more because I started with what I already had.

Thing is guys, if you can’t even make it happen with the little, you won’t make it happen with more either.

Eating clean 80% of the time
Start watching that podcast that’s going to further your skill
Start that YouTube channel
Create rather than consume content

Why not just do it? It’s literally that simple.

Our lack of success is not because we don’t know how. Often we know exactly what to do to get to that place we desire - we just lack the will power to be consistent in the things required to get us there.

So I challenge you today to start enabling the habits that are actually going to bring you the change you so deeply desire.

How I went from secretary to doing social media full time in the matter of 5 months ⏰

☑️ I picked a stream - you want to take social media full time but what form is that going to take?

I chose social media management and content creation 👈🏼

☑️ I invested in education around my chosen streams - the biggest rookie mistake I made was thinking I could do without and learn it ALL on my own.

Sure there’s a lot you can learn yourself but it’ll take you a lot longer and take you on many detours.

It’s best to invest in a course or coaching from someone who is where you want to be ☝️

☑️ I put myself out there - you’ve got to ACTIVELY and CONSISTENTLY put yourself out there.

Here’s what I did 👉🏼 I started posting content around my knowledge on social media and networked with people who could become potential clients.

I used platforms such as Facebook Groups and Instagram to do this. You’ve got to position yourself as your desired title otherwise how will people know you offer that and are any good at it?

I also applied actively to SMM jobs on both Facebook Groups and UpWork 💯

☑️ I perfected my systems - you need a structure in place otherwise you’ll fall flat on your face as soon as a client walks through the door 😅

Trust me I’ve been there and done that. When I got my very first client it was a mess, not because I didn’t know what I was doing but because I had no framework in place.

She’s still working with me to this day so I guess I did something right 🥳 but that’s not always the case so make sure to have a set structure in place before you take on a client.

You’ll also feel a lot more confident in what you’re offering them.

I felt sooo much imposter syndrome when I took my first client on, it’s not even funny but you can avoid some of that 🥲

My biggest social media growth secret 🤫

I apply this for ALL of my clients to get them to where they want to be - account growth.

You should apply this too if you’re simply just not growing after trying all the cookie cutter “tips” that the guru’s are feeding you 🍪.

You need your own unique “trademark”.

What do I mean by this? 🧐

Have a phrase or action in place that you repetitively do in every Tik Tok video, IG reel or static post.

For example, on Tik Tok went viral for that little look she gives the camera in almost every single video.

Do yourself a favour and go through her “Love is Wicked” series on Tik Tok and you’ll see exactly what I mean 👈🏼

I’ll give you one more example of this, there was a painter who went viral on Tik Tok and every single video consisted of him starting out his video by rolling out a huge painting canvas.

Repetitiveness is going to get you growth and in time VIRAL results but you got to hang tight and stick with it.

I’ve been able to greatly increase one of my clients reel views and triple their engagement by doing this in just 4 weeks. He ends off every one of his reels with a phrase “hashtag end boring” 😊

I’m telling you this is the wave.

Why is this so effective? 💭

You’re leaving your mark.

You’re setting yourself apart from your “competition” and making sure you stick in their minds like a catchy Taylor Swift song 😅.

You’ve got to be so in their faces that they can’t help but listen eventually!

The only way you’re going to leave an imprint in their minds is by adding your own unique trademark to every piece of content you put out.

HOW MUCH SHOULD A CONTENT CREATOR GET PAID?💰

Save this for later 🕊!

First and foremost, know your worth as a content creator even when your following is still small! There’s too many creators getting underpaid because they don’t know their WORTH.

You need to be compensated for the time and effort you put into creating your content - QUALITY content! ⭐️

With that being said, you have to keep in mind your following and engagement rate when building up your ‘rate card’.

A great way to calculate what you should charge for one post are “content rate calculators”! Where do you find those?

GOOGLE! 👩🏻‍💻 {dm me for the one I use & I’ll send you the link}

HOWEVER, use this as a GUIDELINE just to get a rough idea how much you should charge a brand for one IG post. If you have very high engagement you can double or even triple that rate!⭐️

Also, take into account how much time you spend on content creation which means you might need to up that rate a little bit!

If this overwhelms you and you rather have me do it for you - I have a package on that! I calculate how much you should charge per post for a feed post, story, reel and IGTV video!☁️ Taking into account all the external factors such as time spent on content creation, following, engagement, etc...

Want to start landing paid collaborations? ⭐️

PITCHING to brands is one of the best ways to do it! However there’s a few factors that come into play when sending off those emails.

Firstly, do you have a media kit in place? If the answer to that question is no, you’ve been doing it all wrong where pitching is concerned!

A media kit should include your accounts stats, info about you & your rate card, along with packages you can offer the brand 💵.

If the right information is not in there, the brand will A. not take you seriously as a content creator and B. might not even respond to your pitch.

A brand is never going to search for the info they need. If it’s not there at first glance, you’ve already lost them.

Secondly, building a relationship with that brand before and after pitching is also important. Make sure before you decide to pitch to a particular brand that their mission aligns and resonates with your audience otherwise the collab is not going to be mutually beneficial⭐️.

Lastly, the way in which you pitch also plays a vital role when landing paid collaborations with brands! If your pitching is off it’s going to be very difficult to land those collabs🙆🏻‍♀️.
