Techsylvania might be over, but mentally we're still there. This year's edition had us exploring many fascinating topics such as AI, business strategies, space exploration, and the core elements of success in business and life.
After two full days, we're ready to share some key takeaways with our community.
❓Will AI take over our roles? For Slava Rubin, co-founder of Indiegogo and Humbition, the idea of AI replacing engineers is as unlikely as microwaves replacing chefs. On the other hand, Shervin Pishevar, the visionary Chairman & CEO of EDISON, predicts a future where AI's IQ will grow fast in the next decade and urges everyone to dive into the AI wave and dream of creating unicorns in Romania.
💼 How can businesses succeed in such a competitive environment? Slava Rubin emphasized the importance of listening to the "I wish" moments and what follows afterward. His advice? Start small, think big, and iterate quickly. Giuseppe Castelbuono of UniCredit reminded us that simplicity and security are key ingredients in banking apps, a principle that we stand by at MTD Technology.
🪐 Is the sky still the limit? Techsylvania took us on a trip beyond Earth's borders. Christyl Johnson from NASA Goddard shared tales of Mars, once similar to Earth, with oceans and volcanic activity. She also provided fascinating insights into Mars colonization, noting that a journey to Mars would take nine months, during which AI could generate simulations to make the trip more comfortable and bearable.
Lastly, the event underscored some of the most important aspects we should focus on in business and life—collaboration, soft skills, and seizing opportunities. Mircea Geoana, Deputy Secretary General at NATO, highlighted the need for cooperation among the public, private, governmental, and academic sectors. He also offered advice for startups and organizations: 'Include people from diverse cultural and national backgrounds in your team'. Shervin Pishevar talked about the importance of in-person collaboration. QuHarrison Terry revealed Japan's growth strategy for startups in technology and entrepreneurship. Joe Inzerillo of SiriusXM shared his belief that true intelligence is rooted in creativity and reminded us that "the world needs more dreamers that do good". 💭
We left Techsylvania inspired and motivated to do better. We'd like to thank all the speakers for sharing their stories with us, and we're looking forward to next year's edition. 🚀
Special thanks to our colleague Patricia Damian for sharing these insights with us.
