Reflect on this Christmas message. It's so good.
The Return of the King
Luke 21:27–28 (NIV®)
“At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

There are very few movies where the sequel is better than the original. I’m sure we can all think of some sequels that should never have been made! But I know with absolute certainty that the sequel to Christmas is going to be incredible. You see, Jesus is coming back, and when He returns to Earth the second time, it won’t be as an infant. He won’t be returning for a pleasant stable scene, as a meek Lamb to be offered as a sacrifice for all humanity. He will be coming as a conquering King in power and great glory. His arrival won’t be limited to a small village on the outskirts of Jerusalem—it will be a global event, both in scope and in implication. He will shake the heavens, and the whole world will know He’s here. So, prepare your heart. Get ready. Be alert. I don’t know about you, but I want to be found serving Him when He returns, and all the trivial and temporary things of this world fall away. Christmas isn’t the end of the story. The return of the King is near!

THINK ABOUT IT
The material trappings of the Christmas season can be distracting, but let’s not forget what’s more important. “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18).

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for the privilege of celebrating Christmas and the entrance of Your Son into time. I pray that I would not be distracted by earthly, material things but keep my eyes on eternal things. I don’t want to be ignorant or so engaged with the world that I miss serving You and sharing Your love with others. Help me remember that You are returning one day in all Your glory. And when that day comes, I want to be found ready. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Blessings,

A perfect Christmas message from one of my favorite pastors. Enjoy & share it.

In the Midst of God’s Will
Matthew 2:13-15 (NIV®)
When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.” So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, where he stayed until the death of Herod.

For a long time, I thought that if I were in the midst of God’s will and there happened to be any opposition or resistance, I must have missed something. Perhaps I took a detour, got something wrong, or heard incorrectly. I thought following the Lord would be easy. But that’s not biblical. There’s no doubt that Jesus’ earthly father, Joseph, was in the midst of God’s will, purpose, and divine direction. He was chosen to rear the Son of God! Joseph had multiple visits from archangels confirming this, and yet he had adversaries who persisted and difficulties that remained. He married a woman who was already pregnant and watched her give birth in a stable. He moved his family to a different country to escape a murder plot. Then he was told to move his family back. When you are led by the Spirit, your troubles won’t always disappear, and opposition won’t always stop—but that doesn’t mean you’ve missed hearing Him or taken a detour. This Christmas, be at peace. God’s way is sometimes filled with obstacles, but as you continue to seek and honor Him, He will go before you and be beside you every step of the way.

THINK ABOUT IT
Jesus experienced rejection and resistance throughout His time on Earth. If you are honoring God with your life and experiencing similar things, you’re in good company.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I want to be in Your will. Even if I experience opposition, rejection, resistance, or difficulties, I choose to trust You. I repent for the times I have given up or bowed to my circumstances instead of trusting Your guidance. Direct my path toward the assignment You have for me and give me strength to endure. In Jesus’ name, amen.

I've read so many scriptures about not being afraid lately. god must be doing something big soon.
Do Not Be Afraid
Luke 1:13, 1:30, 2:10 & Matthew 1:20 (NIV®)
But the angel said to him: “Do not be afraid, Zechariah” …. But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary” …. But the angel said to [the shepherds], “Do not be afraid.” … An angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid.”

Have you ever noticed that all the statements made to the remarkable people invited into the Christmas narrative are prefaced with “Don’t be afraid”? At face value, none of the statements are threatening. In fact, they’re very hopeful and affirming. Yet this pattern means something—that exposure to the supernatural presence of God is terrifying. It also means that even the most godly and faithful experienced fear in the midst of God’s call. Yet they still moved forward. We may experience fear, but it’s our choice whether to give in to it. We may live in uncertain times. We may face very real earthly fears, but God wouldn’t say "Do not be afraid” if it weren’t possible to live without fear. So, what’s the antidote? Trust in the Lord and His goodness. To complete our assignments, we need to refuse fear and operate in faith, strength, and courage. So, do not be afraid. The Lord is good, and we can trust His plans.

THINK ABOUT IT
This holiday season, God may ask you to share your story with someone. He may prompt you to step out and speak truth in the public square. He may ask you to do something out of the ordinary in the new year. We should have such reverence, awe, trust, and fear of the Lord that doing anything other than what He’s called us to is out of the question. So, when you are confronted with fear, choose instead to trust in God’s sovereignty, goodness, and faithfulness. Then, take the next step forward.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I trust in You. I know that You are for me, and I will not be afraid. Give me strength this season to do what You’re calling me to do and not bow to fear. May I fear and respect You more than I do other people. Give me wisdom to know when fear is knocking on my door and let me be bold in rejecting it in Your name. Thank You for Your Word that tells me I don’t have to be afraid. In Jesus’ name, amen.

God Fulfills All His Plans
Matthew 1:22; 2:15; 2:17 (NIV®)
All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet … And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet … Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled.

Have you ever looked at a situation and accurately predicted the outcome? Perhaps it was a sports game or the plot of a movie. Things happened as you said they would, and for a small moment, you felt triumphant and powerful. Well, that’s not a once-in-a-while situation for our God. He always knows the outcome. He’s not simply making an educated guess. He definitively knows all the things that have ever happened on the earth. He knows how it began and how it all ends. Even though it might seem strange that the Son of God was born of a virgin and laid in a manger in Bethlehem, it was not a surprise in the halls of Heaven. God said it would happen exactly as it did, hundreds of years before Jesus ever drew His first breath in that stable. He is all-knowing, and here’s the amazing part: God made a way, through Christ, to be in relationship with you. An all-powerful and all-knowing God wants to know you and be known. Here’s a simple prayer you can pray to invite Him into your life today:

Almighty God, I am a sinner and I need a Savior. I believe Jesus is Your Son, and that He died on a cross for my sins. I believe You raised Him to life again for my justification. Forgive me of my sins. I forgive everyone who has sinned against me. Jesus, be Lord of my life. I want to serve You as Lord and King. I thank You that I now belong to the family of God—the best family in the world! In Jesus’ name, amen.

THINK ABOUT IT
God is perfectly holy, all-powerful, and all-knowing, and we can trust Him with our future. And because of Jesus, we can approach Him with boldness, experience His grace, and gain access to His plans and His wisdom.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, You know all things. Nothing is a surprise to You. Nothing is out of Your sight or control. I repent for the times I have been anxious, controlling, or a know-it-all. Only You are omniscient. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to walk among us and save us from our sins. I want to know You and be fully known. I yield to You as Lord of my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.

This is a wonderful post with the perfect prayer.

Honoring God Right Now
Luke 1:46-48 (NIV®)
And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant.”

When we look at the Christmas narrative, it’s all about people who didn’t initiate God’s plans. Mary didn’t say, “God, pick me to birth the Savior of the world!” Zechariah and Elizabeth prayed for a child, but they probably didn’t think, “Let us raise the one who prepares the way for the Messiah!” The wisemen simply followed a star, trusting God to lead the way. They all presented themselves as participants through humble prayer and an intent to honor God with their lives. They said, “I’m available, and I want to honor You.” And God responded in His perfect timing with more than just answers to prayers—He responded with invitations to something much bigger. Your life may feel insignificant these days. You may be taking care of little children. You may have a job that feels like drudgery. You may work with someone who is demeaning and belittling. But if you make daily choices to remain humble and available to God’s purposes and to honor Him in everything you do—even in the insignificant or frustrating things—He will invite you to new places. But don’t wait. Begin to yield to the truth you know now. Then, when you do receive an invitation to something bigger, you’ll be ready.

THINK ABOUT IT
Consider how you can honor God with your life as it is right now. Your diligence today will prepare your heart and mind for His next invitation.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I want to honor You in every aspect of my life. Help me to be faithful to where You have me right now. Prepare my heart, prepare my calendar, and prepare my finances to be ready to say yes when You invite me into something bigger, and give me patience as I wait for Your perfect timing. In Jesus’ name, amen.

I’m In!
Luke 1:38 (NIV®)
“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.”

Mary was presented with an inexplicable, unbelievable scenario, but she chose to say yes to the Lord. She was only a teenager, engaged to be married, and this news of a conceiving a holy child—the Son of God—seemed not only improbable, but it was sure to throw a wrench in her life. She believed it anyway. Let me ask you something: Do you want belief like Mary? Belief in the face of the seemingly impossible? Even when it will complicate your life? The Bible presents story after story of ordinary people—young and old, men and women, poor and wealthy—and their willingness to believe what God says. I want to be one of those people. I’m not content with sitting in church or doing religious activities. God is moving in the earth, and I want to participate with Him. I’m determined to yield to God more completely. I want to say, “I’m in. I believe” to what He says. I want to be faithful. This Christmas, God may be calling you to believe in some impossible, improbable, and inexplicable things. Will you join me in believing like Mary?

THINK ABOUT IT
“For with God nothing will be impossible” (Luke 1:37 NKJV®). Think about any impossible things God is asking you to believe about your life, your family, your future, or Himself. Choose today to believe, against all odds, and see how God responds.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I want to believe in the impossible and fully participate in what You’re doing. Give me listening ears and eyes to see and believe. Whatever tomorrow’s assignment is, prepare me and help me to engage in it fully. I believe in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Blessings,

That is a great message.
God With Us
Matthew 1:23 (NIV®)
“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).

The amount of change we’re asked to process and the information that’s available to us in today’s world is truly unparalleled in human history. We are constantly inundated with news stories, culture shifts, and propaganda. Values that have shaped our lives for generations are being cast aside. It’s a confusing time, no matter what age or generation you represent. It’s creating division in family systems—between grandparents and grandchildren, parents and children. We need help. The good news is that Jesus stepped into time to be “God with us.” Jesus’ entrance into our world is a gift given to all humanity. He paved the way for us to have a personal relationship with God and for the Holy Spirit to indwell each of us—guiding us into all truth. It may be a confusing time, but God is with us! He understands what we’re facing, and He promises to give us wisdom and guidance for every part of our lives. He promises to never leave us nor forsake us. We are not alone, for He is Immanuel.

THINK ABOUT IT
Take a few moments today to stop what you’re doing to consider that God is with you, right there, and celebrate what it truly means that Immanuel, “God with us,” has come to us.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son to be with us. Thank You for His life and the sacrifice He willingly made on the cross. Thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to dwell in us and give us comfort and wisdom. I praise You that I am not alone. I haven’t been abandoned to figure out this life on my own. As I prepare gifts for others this season, help me to truly understand and acknowledge this great gift. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Blessings,
Pastor Allen Jackson

The Heart of This Season
Isaiah 9:6-7 (NIV®)
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.

All over the world, people are preparing Christmas programs, pageants, concerts, and nativities. They are buying gifts, baking cookies, putting trees in their homes, and gathering for parties. It’s busy, and there’s often a lot of pressure with this holiday, but don’t get pulled into thinking that it’s about your decorations versus your neighbor’s, or the gifts on your list, or what Christmas party to attend. There’s nothing wrong with these things—they are expressions and celebrations of Jesus’ arrival into time, and I think God loves when His people have fun—but I want us to pray, in the midst of all the hustle and bustle, that Jesus’ name would be exalted above all. Let the high praises of God rise up from the earth! Let the Holy Spirit add His power and presence to this time. Let’s declare that the heart of all these celebrations will forever be our Lord and King, Jesus Christ. Pray with me this Christmas that peace, hope, and joy will permeate every celebration, the lost will come to the knowledge of Christ, and the name of Jesus would be lifted high for all to hear.

THINK ABOUT IT
“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9–11).

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for the great honor and privilege of being able to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Let us not take that for granted. Be with everyone who is diligently preparing for Christmas festivities. Meet every need they have and make a way through every obstacle. But most of all, may Your Spirit be present throughout our celebrations, and may Jesus’ name be honored in all we do. In His name, amen.

Blessings,
Pastor Allen Jackson

Immanuel-God With Us
Matthew 1:22-23 (NIV®)
All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).

It’s fascinating to look through the Scriptures and see how God honored the words of the prophets. Here, Matthew is showing how the words of the prophet, Isaiah, were fulfilled in Jesus’ life: “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14 NIV®). I am grateful Jesus is still revealing Himself today. He was born in a stable in Bethlehem a little over two thousand years ago. He died on a cross at the hands of the Romans and was raised from a tomb purchased by Joseph of Arimathea. Peter declared Him to be the Christ, and He was recognized by several of His disciples after His resurrection. But Jesus of Nazareth is alive and still being revealed in the hearts of men and women throughout the earth today as Lord and Christ—as God’s Messiah—His anointed one.

THINK ABOUT IT
“In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.” John 16:23

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for the great honor of bearing the name of Jesus. I choose to yield my will to the authority of my Lord and Savior and serve with faithfulness and enthusiasm. May Jesus Christ be exalted and His Kingdom extended through my life. In His name, amen.

Blessings,
Pastor Allen Jackson

God is the only father I've ever known, and He's a good, good Father.

God Is a Perfect Father
John 14:9 (NIV®)
“Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?”

Jesus brought a revelation of God that only His Son could give—a revelation of God as our Heavenly Father. Thinking about God as our Father can be a challenge because we’ve all had earthly fathers. Many of us grew up with godly fathers who were imperfect but committed to their families and did a good job of parenting. Others of us grew up with fathers who were not good parents for various reasons. The kind of human fathering you experienced may impact your imagination of God as your Heavenly Father, but it does not diminish the reality that God is a perfect Father. He knew you before your parents saw you. He sent His own Son to bear the burden of your sin and die on your behalf. He has a wonderful plan for your life and wants to help you achieve all He has for you.

THINK ABOUT IT
Do not allow any failings of your earthly father to impact your relationship with your Heavenly Father. He is perfect in every way and loves you more than you can imagine.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I choose to acknowledge Your authority, submit to Your discipline, and cooperate with Your instruction. Thank You for adopting me as Your own through the blood of Jesus, and thank You, Lord Jesus, for revealing Your Father to me. In Your name, amen.

Blessings,
Pastor Allen Jackson

Are you leaving a legacy of faith?
Legacy of Faith
Psalm 34:11 (NIV®)
Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

What do you consider the greatest gift you can give your children and grandchildren? What is the legacy you would like attached to their memories of you? Many focus on our careers and our investments to bring home the kind of income that will make our lives easier. For them, the greatest gift they can give is the financial security that will provide for exclusive schools, college expenses, or a down payment on a house. The legacy of others might be related to sports and their devotion to a team. Their children’s first thoughts may be team colors, shared hours sitting in stadiums, or the value of the memorabilia they’ll inherit one day. There is nothing wrong with bequeathing these things, but they are not the most important things we can leave the generations who will follow us. The greatest gift we can give our children and grandchildren is a legacy of faith in Jesus of Nazareth, with training and encouragement regarding the Kingdom of God.

THINK ABOUT IT
“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay” (1 Peter 1:3-4, NLT®).

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for my eternal inheritance, which only the shed blood of Jesus could purchase. Help me focus on that inheritance, reverence for You, and Your Kingdom purposes as I build my life agenda and influence the next generation. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Blessings,
Pastor Allen Jackson

Let’s Keep Going
Philippians 3:12 (NIV®)
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

Paul is writing to the Philippian Christians from Rome, where he was under house arrest for his persistent evangelism. By this time, he had accomplished so much, and suffered so much, that it would have been easy to become puffed up with pride and then complacent. But Paul admitted that he had not yet reached his goal of completely knowing Christ in the power of His resurrection and fellowship of His sufferings (v. 10)—even though He was imprisoned for spreading the good news about Jesus! Paul knew that the race he was running would not end until he drew his last breath. He was perhaps in the loneliest season of his life and his future seemed bleak, yet he was determined to keep moving ahead in his journey toward spiritual maturity. Let’s make that our goal, too.

THINK ABOUT IT
Let’s keep going. Let’s keep pressing on and looking to the Lord, no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, You have uniquely blessed me—the best is yet to come. You have heard my prayers, healed my body, and delivered me from oppression. If I look at the things being shaken around me, I can be filled with terror. But when I look to Your eternal Kingdom, I am filled with anticipation. Therefore, I am determined that I will not stop! In Jesus’ name, amen.

Give Thanks
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness;
I will sing the praises of the name of the LORD Most High.
Psalm 7:17

How do you see and respond to the world around you? If your friends and family were asked, would they say you are more grumbly or grateful? In this season of great change, it can be easy to feel despair one moment and anticipation the next. But let's take note of our attitudes, and choose to appreciate the things we often take for granted: the ones we love, the people who make our lives better and more convenient, the freedom to gather for worship, schools for our children, the availability of healthcare, the strength that comes from doing hard work. While it's true we are experiencing great challenges, let's not forget we are also seeing God do great things in the midst of them. Let's take the time to recognize all He has done and all He is doing. Let’s be known as people who are more grateful than grumbly. Let’s look for evidence of God’s work, and then be intentional about expressing our gratitude to Him. Let’s also be diligent to help the people around us this Thanksgiving join us in thanking our God.

“Stand up and praise the LORD your God, who is from everlasting to everlasting.
Blessed be your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise.
You alone are the LORD. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them.
You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.”
Nehemiah 9:5-6

Father, forgive me for grumbling when things are not going my way and being ungrateful when they are. Today, I choose gratitude for all that You have done, for all You are doing, and for all You have promised to do. Thank You for the Holy Spirit, who teaches me and guides me. Thank You for Your great strength and Your great power that’s at work on my behalf. Thank You that, through the blood of Jesus Christ, I have been justified, sanctified, made holy, and set apart for Your purposes. Thank You that I can trust You with the days ahead. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Another good one from Pastor Jackson

Remember How the Story Ends
Daniel 7:14 (NLT®)
He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all the nations of the world, so that people of every race and nation and language would obey him. His rule is eternal—it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed.

Daniel’s visions give us extraordinary insight into the character of God and His dealings with humanity. Here, Daniel is speaking of Jesus, the Son of God. Daniel describes Jesus as having been given not just authority and honor but also sovereignty over all the nations of the world. He says that one day every race and nation and language will obey Him. He says that Jesus’ rule will never end, and His Kingdom will never be destroyed. It is easy to look at the world around us and be discouraged. If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed and perhaps even consumed with anxiety, thank God for your salvation. Thank Him for all the times He has blessed you and given you hope for the future. Always remember how this story ends: Jesus on His throne and His people living with Him in His glorious Kingdom forever.

THINK ABOUT IT
“For our momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison” (2 Corinthians 4:17, NASB®).

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithfulness to me. In the midst of life’s pressures, help me see a Living Jesus, Your abundance and provision, with hope to push forward. May darkness, heaviness, and discouragement dissipate in the light and anticipation of Your eternal Kingdom with Jesus on the throne. In His name, amen.

God’s Objective
John 12:27-28 (NIV®)
“Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.”

In the limitations of our humanity, we cannot truly know what was going through Jesus’ mind as He faced His impending death. As the Son of God, He knew what lay ahead. He knew that His death and resurrection were necessary in order for God’s plan to be fulfilled. As a man, His soul was troubled. The Romans used crucifixion as a violent means to enforce their rule, and everyone would have known the horrors it entailed. He surely must have dreaded the torture and agony that awaited Him. But His love for His Father and His determination to complete His mission gave Him the strength to see it through. Jesus knew that the objective of the power of God is not simply to get our way with the help of a heavenly bully. The objective of the power of God is to bring glory to His name.

THINK ABOUT IT
Our assignment is to pursue God’s objectives. When we do, His assistance is assured, and we can know He will be glorified.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, grant clarity and understanding in those places where I have been deceived, confused, or haven't understood Your objective. Holy Spirit, guide me into Your truth and help me effectively apply Jesus’ redemptive work to every part of my life. Help me submit and say no to ungodliness and yes to godliness. In Jesus' name, amen.
