In my past 3 years at @massmoca I haven’t posted any of my work onto this IG account. But sometime is better than never and this felt like a good one to start with. Made for the 25th Anniversary Gala, this sizzle reel encapsulates 2(ish) years of filming and activities on campus. It takes a ton of people to make MASS MoCA what it is, from art fab to our performing arts team to security that opens the hundreds of doors, it takes hundreds of people to carry artists through their journey from their studio, into our galleries, and to our visitors. Huge appreciation for my conspiring cameras that came in to help @luis____salazar @magicharps @joe_aidonidis. And deep gratitude to all the artists that let us document their process.
Long time pals over @pocket_swing reached out to me to edit a video for their Kickstarter that’s hitting the ground running real soon! I love compact lightweight chairs already and now there’s one in a swing form?! Sign me up! When we were planning out what each @deerfieldacademy video would focused on, one of the first requests was to make a video dedicated to the people who dedicate so much of themselves to the school, the staff! This is one of my favorite videos in the series with almost all of it shot by the wonderful @am_fabry who made a package room seem like the most exciting place in the world!
Another part of the series made for @deerfieldacademy! This time focusing on the wide range of arts programming DA has to offer. Filming the arts during the times of COVId was a particular challenge. Musicians had to play in individual practice rooms while I rolled camera remotely since I wasn’t able to be in with them, actors had to emote and project through masks, etc. One of the work arounds and challenges we came up with was using pre-existing pre-COVId content that DA had made and then blending it with the new content I was filming to successfully present a unified story.
It’s been quiet here for a minute…hopefully that’s going to change!
Last spring I made a video campaign for @deerfieldacademy ‘s Admissions department to show prospective students a glimpse of different aspects of campus life.
Filming these materials in the time of COVId was not the easiest. But it was amazing to get back out there and interacting with students and faculty.
This summer I finally had the opportunity to collaborate with @ecstatic.rabbit! It was an absolute pleasure to get to create this landing page video for Sarah’s website (which if you haven’t checked out you should). I’m excited to see what she develops after this time of reflection and growth that she’s taking!
