I'm just thinking out loud here. Racing Pigeon fanciers, there should be a olr that rewards the most consistent bird in the series. Average Speed can stay as is, but why not emphasize High Point Champ Birds? For instance, 150m, 200m, 250m, towards Average Speed and High Point Champ only. (an optional sprint series entry for those that want it). On the 300m, top 10 leading High Point Champ Birds getting paid in clocking order. (first 3 of any bird in the trap get rewarded too) On the 350m, top 5% High Point Champ leading Birds paid in clocking order. (first 5 of any bird in the trap get rewarded too). After the final, the top 10% of Champion High Point Birds paid out with a 40th paid position cap, and the majority of the pool paid out to the High Point Champ Birds. That would prevent any pigeon that tagged along on the final races from getting rewarded. Your thoughts? I really want to hear what breeders think about this concept of a race?

****Half sis just won a very tough 300 mile race, 2 bird drop, 20 minutes ahead of next loft for Timothy Gates ****
32504 is a linebred Captain Moonlight c**k bird, was bred for stock for my breeding program. Haven't flown anything off of him. Bred 2 rounds last year from him and gifted his young, so we'll see what his young breed in due time. His sire was 4th ace, 10th 350 mile final race winner at the Springbreak 300 olr. His dam is a direct daughter of the phenomenal breeder Captain Moonlight, top breeding son of the well-known Aviator. Medium size, tight vents, strong back, short forearm, very strong wings. I think he'll make a great breeder. Not many of these around.

His 1/2 brother (same sire) bred me a 4th 300 miles, 16th average speed 2021 High Desert Yearling OLR with only the 1 bird ever raced off of him. Have 1 training at the Apple Cup currently and 2 grand kids.

1/2 aunt ( sire's 1/2 sister, same sire) is responsible for 3 generations of very tough competitors. Just recently, they won 4th combine, the 1st and 2nd place winner was over 100 miles on the shorter end. Another hen is the runner up ace in the club. She was always 10-40 minutes ahead of her loft mates coming home all alone! This line tends to break away during races and fly alone.
