Never do I want to go to sleep thinking I have broken someone's heart, said hurtful words or given scathing criticism. Even speaking the truth does not have to be destructive. The word can be a knife as well as a balm. We sometimes do not fully realise the power we hold in our hands with this, we can use it deliberately. People who use harsh words often have a lot of pain inside and they are looking for a way out, best not to take it too personally. The fight will then stop almost immediately.

Aan alle gemene verdelers,

In dit, dronken van luxe, land, mag je niet teveel vuur hebben. Op één dag zelfs, kan je gratis en voor niets een aantal koude (soms gemene) antwoorden krijgen, gewoon omdat je beweegt hoe je beweegt, doet wat je doet. Omdat je toevallig de kleur hebt en het land waarin je geboren werd. Waar zijn al die gemene delers naartoe? Daarmee bedoel ik dan ‘gemeen’ in de meest positieve zin van het woord.

I hear and read people and
their frustrations and what strikes me is that people often seek refuge with animals and in nature because people today are highly judgmental and intolerant of diversity of others and even want to ignore the existence of other people who just live differently than they do. Perhaps they have never been to hell and back and are just not grateful for life, which is actually sacred, or they take everything for granted and can no longer open their hearts to what is different.

Daily life can get tough when you have to play a role every day that you are not. People sometimes react from their shadow side because they no longer find the light within themselves. This is a reflection of it. It is usually not personal. And indeed, nature and animals take life as it comes and maintain their purity even when people are not good to them, they are very directly connected to the source and simplicity of life.

I wish everyone may (re)find that source within themselves. A hurried, unhappy life automatically stops the moment we surrender and admit that we might be disconnected. Then the truer, deeper life can begin. Then there is no longer another who is stranger than ourselves.
