Earlier this month, we partnered with M&T Bank & Bacardi to co-produce a weekend of events targeting BIPOC students and alums during the University at Buffalo's Homecoming Weekend.
The weekend was branded as UB SOUL Homecoming (Shades Of Unity & Love) and was created as a way to reconnect alums & past students while promoting mentorship with the current student body.
The weekend started on a Thursday with a Kickback mixer hosted by Reforum Consulting at the beautiful M&T Tech Hub in Downtown Buffalo. The ladies from Reforum Consulting created activities to help break the ice and encourage engagement among guests in attendance. Guests were able to tour the amazing facility and were provided with information on internships and job opportunities within M&T Tech space.
Saturday afternoon, students & alums gathered to tailgate prior to the UB Bulls Football Homecoming game.
DJ Mr.Illmatic provided all the nostalgic sounds that kept everyone dancing the entire time. The University President Satish K. Tripathi event had a chance to drop by to greet the students & alums.
Following the tailgate, guests were treated to a Pajama Jammy Jam (House Party 2 Movie Inspired) presented by Bacardi at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo. Guests were treated to complimentary Bacardi cocktails and received a loaded gift bag upon arrival.
DJ Mr.Illmatic returned from earlier, alongside My Tunez (Jamil T. Crews & Terik Gaines) who kept guests on the dance floor all night reminiscing about their old college days.
The weekend concluded with Sunday Brunch hosted by Manna Culinary Group, Inc.. TruJourney provided the amazing soundtrack for the afternoon while 93.7 WBLK - The People's Station's own ADRI V The Go Getta hosted.
It was truly the best way to close out a great weekend.
