"Soledad Segura empezó a escuchar música en la radio a la edad de cinco años. Todos esas melodías quedaron en forma de poso cultural a lo largo de su vida. Seguidora de programas como "Tocata" complemento su cultura musical con el vídeo-clip y la música en vivo. En 1996 tras un curso intensivo de radio, comenzó en "Onda Verde" con programas como "El Espía Alquimista" y "7Notas7Colores". Desde ento

nces no ha parado de hacer radio y vincularse con el mundo de la música alternativa y underground, es decir, moviéndose por el aspecto no comercial y por ende más auténtico de la música.En Canal Extremadura presentó y dirigió "Sólo Soy Feliz Cuando Llueve", fórmula que también llevo a Onda Campus. El programa que ahora presenta y dirige en Onda Campus pretende recuperar ese espíritu independiente y comprometido con la cultura que tenían las emisoras estadounidenses universitarias en los 80 y los 90 y cadenas como la BBC. Todo un ejercicio de conocimiento y experiencia al servicio de la cultura, ya que en su filosofía impera las ganas de compartir y difundir la música como la más sublime de las artes, la que nos acompaña día a día, como la radio...Nuestro país no puede quedarse atrás en la cultura, y la radio universitaria debe ser la abanderada de la misma. Criterio y buen hacer conducirán al oyente de Alternative Nation Radio Station por paisajes y emociones sonoras de gran calidad. ¿Te lo vas a perder?."

Gary Young, forever young, playing cassettes of Yes and King Crimson on the road with Sonic Youth, Sebadoh, Cell, Huggy Bear and his genius band Pavement, handing out dead Autumn leaves to each person entering the gig in Berlin, loving every minute of our lives together even when us kids got grumpy, Gary had FUN, and those of us who got to hang with him will never forget this amazing cat. Photo is by the director Tom Surgal who cast and myself as living dancing trees in Gary’s “Plantman” video. What an honor and what a gift sweet Gary was. Rest in rock n roll peace brother.

CHRIS McGREGOR - RIP (1962-2023)
It is with profound sadness that The Residents pay their respect to the passing of Chris McGregor, their longtime lighting and tech guru, as well as a generous, warm-hearted, and true friend for the last 30 years. A virtuoso lighting designer as well as a great guy, Chris unfortunately and unexpectedly suffered a heart attack and died Monday, July 31. He will be greatly missed.

We are crushed to learn of the passing of Rick Froberg. With Rick we have lost one of the most powerful voices and unique guitar players in rock music whose records with Drive Like Jehu, Pitchfork, Hot Snakes, and Obits never felt less than urgent. We feel lucky to have crossed paths with the Drive Like Jehu guys early in Merge’s existence, and the “Bullet Train to Vegas” b/w “Hand Over Fist” single is one of the most revered in our catalog. RIP Rick.
