Kikai Digital announced that it will be releasing Chinese Yuri visual novel Symbiotic Love (Ji Shen) this Summer. The coming of age game was released in Chinese in 2019 by PeriScope Game. It is developed by White Dew Games.

Symbiotic Love takes inspiration from Innocent Grey's Flowers series with its mystery elements and Yuri storylines. The series also incorporates Chinese traditional and youth cultures into the story. The publishes describes the game:

Following Jisuo’s death, Zihua’s world had seemingly collapsed. Her friend, and beloved, was gone. Only when she finally pulled herself out did she realize her tears have run dry.
One day, she discovers a diary excerpt in her schoolbag. To her bafflement, it belonged to Jisuo, and this was only the beginning. The excerpts appeared one by one, stirring up her memories, recounting how they met, become acquainted, and eventually, becoming friends and lovers.
Where do these diary excerpts come from? What happened between Jisuo and Zihua? Will this story turn into a Romeo & Juliet tragedy, or is there a way to salvage their love?

White Dew Games (白露社) is a Chinese Doujin group that focuses on creating Yuri Visual Novels. Their other works include Symbiotic Love sequels Melancholy Love and Eternal Love. Melancholy Love is also adapted by Kikai Digital and is available now on Steam.

You can check out a demo of Symbiotic Love today and look forward to the game's full release this Summer.

Yesterday, Seven Seas Entertainment uploaded the official English cover for the third volume of Inori's Yuri light novel I'm in Love with the Villainess. The publisher also announced that the digital edition of the light novel would be released early on June 3, 2021. It will be followed by paperback editions on July 6.

The cover depicts protagonist Rae, her wife Claire, and their children, May and Aleah. When the original cover was unveiled for the Japanese release last year it made waves in the Yuri community. Depictions of le***an women creating a family and raising children together are exceedingly rare, almost unheard of, in Yuri.

Seven Seas Describes I'm in Love with the Villainess Vol. 3:

After the revolution, Rae and Claire start a new life together as teachers, mothers, and wives. But soon the political machinations of the Nur Empire threaten their peaceful days. Worse, Rae recognizes them as the inciting events of RevoLily, the sequel to Revolution. Once again, she must rely on her wit, courage, and love for Claire to overcome an evil end.
I'm in Love with the Villainess received critical acclaim for its characters, world-building, and LGBTQ+ themes. I awarded the first two volumes a perfect 10/10 score on YuriMother.

A manga adaptation by Aonoshimo is currently serialized in Comic Yuri Hime and published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. The fourth I'm in Love with the Villainess light novel was released in Japanese in February.

You can preorder I'm in Love with the Villainess Vol. 3 digitally and in paperback today: https://amzn.to/3uEhHrG

The latest volume in Kadokawa’s Yuri Drill anthology series was released in Japanese on March 27. Included in the volume was an entry about a transgender Yuri pairing.

The single-page entry, written and illustrated by Yuusuke Shiba (I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level), is entitled “TS Yuri.” TS here is short of transs****l, a term many people in the LGBTQ+ community consider to be outdated. It can be used in Japan to mean a genderbend/genderswap fiction (although many prefer the abbreviate TG for these purposes). It is possible that the author was unaware of the complexity of the term and its significance to the LGBTQ+ community.

In the manga, two childhood friends ponder one girl’s gender identities, and one asserts staying as she now is, affirming her identity.

Some online have questioned in reviews on BookWalker and Amazon if the chapter should be considered Yuri. However, while transgender representation is rare in Yuri, the inclusion of trans storylines and characters in Yuri dates back to the genre’s early manga roots. Confirming that transgender Yuri is indeed Yuri.

Yuri Drill is a Yuri anthology featuring various artists, including Fly, Milk Morinaga, Itou Hachi, Saburouta, and many more. The fifth entry includes works by 31 artists. Entries in the anthology are a single page, although artists often have multiple stories in each anthology centered around a theme such as Yuri marriage or b***s in Volume 5. They are accompanied by a single interview question, for example, “briefly explain the intention of your Yuri.”

Yuri Drill is not currently licensed for English release.

El Dia announced a new Yuri mystery adventure visual novel Kanda Alice mo Suiri Suru which will be released for Nintendo Switch in late April. The game's scenario is written by Hatsumi Shimizu, who also wrote the Flowers series, The Curse of Kudan, and contributed to Yumeutsutsu Re:Master.

The game follows the title character Alice Kanda, who is anxious about entering her first year at Miyukinomori Girls' High School. To make matters worse, her best friend, Akira Hodaka, has to leave her spot on the archery club after being accused of wrecking the club's chances at a championship cup.

Together the girls seek out a rumored fortune-teller in the tea ceremony club at the back of the school grounds they heard about from one of their classmates. Upon arriving, the two meet an astoundingly beautiful and otherwordly woman with long black hair, Houju Sawaragi. She asks, "What can you not bear to have taken from you?"

This twilight encounter restarts a heart that had once come to a halt.

On Wednesday, the first volume of Sunao Minakata's manga adaptation of kiki's ROLL OVER AND DIE: I Will Fight for an Ordinary Life with My Love and Cursed Sword! was released in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. The manga is based on the light novel of the same name by kiki.

The publisher describes the manga:
To vanquish the increasingly powerful Demon Lord, divine revelation ordained a party of heroes, each blessed with a unique power. That spelled trouble for Flum Apricot, a total weakling of a girl who has no idea what her power of "Reversal" even does. Betrayed and left behind with a wretched slave trader who enjoys nothing more than seeing his merchandise fight for their lives, Flum thinks all hope is lost -- until she gets her hand on a massive, cursed sword. Finally, after so many years, she understands the nature of her power, and both she and her new companion Milkit are about to experience a huge "Reversal" of their fate!

The volume is translated by Christine Dashiell with lettering by Roland Amago and Bambi Eloriaga-Amago. Seven Seas entertainment also publishes the original light novels in English.

LGBTQ Light Novel Review – I’m in Love with the Villainess Vol. 2

A Defining and Relentlessly Q***r Work in the Next Era of Yuri

I have backed myself into a corner and see no way out of it. For I have already awarded Inori’s I’m in Love with the Villainess a perfect 10/10 score for its stellar first outing. And then, upon seeing what Inori did in the second book, I regret my choice because I have no way to raise the bar on perfection as Inori did in her light novel. Indeed, it has taken me far too long to write this review. My mind is thoroughly exhausted after pondering what I read and accepting the honest truth: that that may very well become a defining work in the next generation of Yuri. For as much time as I spend diving into the Sapphic news of the day, I devote even more to looking to the next big movement of Yuri. If I’m in Love with the Villainess Vol. 2 is a signal of what Yuri’s future holds, then we are entering an extraordinary q***r era.

The story takes off shortly after the first book. At least for the moment, the commoner revolt is quelled, and Rae continues schooling alongside her beloved Claire. Storylines include a new transfer student rivaling Rae for Claire’s affection and the girls going on vacation to visit their families. However, the story takes a pretty dramatic and welcome turn halfway through the book. Through a combination of luck and her expect negotiation tactics, a fruit of her intimate knowledge of Revolution’s world and inhabitants, Rae is tasked with investigating corrupt nobles. This change allows Inori....
