We are so delighted to receive this marvellous review of SACRED INDIA from Rhetoric and Media Studies Scholar Jane Woodbury!

"Jennifer Pickford’s epic journey following India’s Ganges River is a revelation of the sacred and the profane. Stunning images portray an ancient and spiritual country, in a modern world facing a dilemma. Amidst a rainbow of embroidered silk saris and time-honored sites, a turbulence disturbs the flow of the mighty river. The current trends of our modern world are presented garishly. Plastic waste teems these waters, littering shorelines and polluting holy places as well as holy waters. Interwoven with informed opinions from diverse commentators about plastic waste, Pickford’s narration in this provocative film, conveys her passion for Sacred India and its conservation."

Jane Woodbury is a visual artist living on Manitoulin Island in Ontario and a graduate of Laurentian University. Her area of specialization is Rhetoric and Media Studies. Subjects also included Canadian Film, Film Foundations, Applied Media Aesthetics and World Cinema. Currently working on a solo show, her artwork reflects on social justice as well as environmental issues. While living on Vancouver Island, she volunteered with Surfrider Pacific Rim Chapter, an organization dedicated to clean oceans and beaches.

Remembering fondly some of the film and acting camps Pickford Productions has ran, this one at Courtenay's LINC youth centre. This summer we'll be missing seeing young faces behind the camera, as mentoring programs and camps are closed down. Turn to mother nature's school instead for an abundance of learning and fun summertime activities. 🦋

Eco-dfndrs film camp was a grand success! The young ones created three separate films: a hybrid docu-drama, a sci-fi drama, and a horror spoof. The films were screened to a full house at the Denman Island Hall! I wanted to share the short our group created. Hope you all get a kick out of this creepy little film! 🌿

We are very pleased to report that Producer Jennifer Pickford has been invited to be one of the filmmaker mentors at this summer camp at the beautiful waterfront Elkhaven Lodge on Denman Island, BC!

The program is open to youths aged 12-15 and is designed to raise environmental awareness amongst youths, as well as teach them filmmaking skills. The goal is to align with local groups, organizations and communities, in which the short films we produce can be used to help promote, educate and inspire, such as the Denman Island Conservancy Association.

We have arrived in India, and begin our film journey in the stunning Devprayag. Nestled in the Himalayas, Devprayag (Deva prayāga) is one of the Panch Prayag (five confluences) of Alaknanda River where Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers meet and take the name Ganga or Ganges River.
