It’s official! We have a new A-cam setup! 🎥🦾

The image coming out of the C70 cinema camera is fantastic. The first picture was carefully taken from behind the camera rig to represent exactly what the human eye was seeing on that procedure. If you swipe left, you’ll see two frames recorded at the same time on the C70 and color corrected to match. It didn’t take much work.
For us at FilmMD Productions, being a production company devoted exclusively to medical, surgical and scientific cinematography, the ability to easily match things like skin tones is of utmost importance.
Oh, and Mount the MK cine zoom lenses and you have a perfect focal range to be able to zoom in for details.

Now to appropriately rig it up!

Here's a closer view of our motorized Netflix-approved overhead cinema camera stealthily flying over a surgical field.
Just a couple years ago it was practically impossible to fly a cinema camera with this capability inside an operating room. To do so would require a large lens, camera body, motorized head, rustic motors and a crane to handle all that weight. For this reason this type of recording was reserved for events with a large budget in large operating rooms, such as surgical conferences. Today, this jib can be set-up by one team member and Dr. Peinado sits at the base of the jib positioning the camera, zooming, focusing and exposing wirelessly. The result is a an antonishing medically-accurate movie-like image that can be streamed in HD or even recorded in 4K RAW for post-production.
What a time to be alive! Everyone gets a front seat and the best view of a surgical procedure.

Here’s the process of a project we completed recently! Our long-term client was looking to install a semi-permanent setup in his Beverly Hills OR to film, stream and preview anything from surgeries to educational cadaveric dissections. We pimped his penthouse OR with two PTZ cameras at appropriate angles for either live surgical streaming or specimen dissection. The setup includes a control panel that can be placed anywhere within the same network; automatically connecting to the cameras and providing independent joystick movement control for each camera, full image control (with up to 20X optical zoom!!) and even an image preview. A true turnkey solution for his purpose. The setup was fully tested during a live cadaver dissection lab this past weekend. We placed our production cart just outside the OR (as seen in the reel) where our director had full view and control of both images while participants had a preview in a large OR monitor. Thanks to all our clients who continue to trust us for these type of projects!! 🦾🩺🙌🏼💉🎥
