After 5 straight weeks or so of family and friends visiting… the house is quiet. The silence is deafening. My last houseguests left yesterday and John left today. What a wonderful summer. That is why I moved here, to have more family and friends around. I am so incredibly grateful for all the visitors and the love we share. My heart is full… but it’s also sad, because I miss everyone. I will adjust back to normal life quickly. It’s just so draining that I feel so happy and so sad at the same time. I may seem like a bish sometimes but really I’m deeply emotional. When I love, be it friends or family, I love hard. It’s programmed in my DNA, and written in my stars. I’m learning not to take rejection personally, which is a whole other story. But I’m just saying give me a minute to recover, I’m a blubbering mess. 😭❤️💔😁

Yesterday we finally interred my parents’ ashes in our (and my dad and grandparents’) hometown at St. Mary’s cemetery. My parents passed in 2012 and 2013 in AZ and we finally decided they needed a proper resting place next to my paternal grandparents. It was an honor to accept the American flag on behalf of my brothers and sisters for my dad’s service in WWII. Very emotional process but glad they are here again with countless other relatives. ❤️☘️

Taking a moment of calm to myself today before the 3rd wave of relatives of the summer arrives tomorrow. This wave is the most awesome because by the end of the week I will have all 5 of my siblings, my 3 kids, and my cousin at my house. This is why I moved back. I need my tribe, I love my family, and we rock. My heart is full. Can’t wait! ❤️

So so so sad, but… they were all dead. I love lots of trees! But, nytime I watched them sway in the wind, I prayed they wouldn’t come down on the house, someone, or power lines. Oh well, come September we can plant new trees and bushes. 😢😔

I forgot to post this… On 7/5 our bar Stick and Rudder had a team in a Run for Hospice 5k. You could make these tags to honor a loved one. In the hustle of check-in I made them and stuck them quickly in my waistband to carry all our stuff. It was like 85 degrees and 90% humidity, so I found a temporary tattoo when I finally took them out. Tom & Madelyn are my parents, Hank is John’s dad, all used hospice services. Thank God I had my parent’s bib facing me because to have John’s dad’s name “Hank” on my lower abdomen would have just been way too weird… 😂 They may be gone but they’re still supplying the jokes. ❤️
