I was cleaning up my iPhone's gallery and stumbled on this picture of a beautiful frag tank at Aquashella Aquarium Festival back in November last year. I don't remember what vendor this tank is from, but man.. they all had 🔥 corals!

🪸 Cyphastrea are a massive reef building species of coral and are a part of the stony coral family Merulinidae. This coral comes in a wide range of colors, the one in these pictures is a 'Meteor Shower' Cyphastrea.

They are one of the easiest stony corals to care for and it is often recommended to new reefkeepers! Cyphastrea corals do well in lower light conditions, with moderate indirect flow. Do you have this species in your aquarium? 💬

Hmm, tough decision to pick JUST one. But.. I’d probably go for the beautiful rainbow chalice! 🤩

Which one would you pick out of this Reef Builders selection of corals? 🪸

I never have luck with acropora corals, they require super stable water parameters and very intensive care to have them in such colors! The bounce mushroom is already in my collection, and euphyllias are not really my thing.

I’ve received fish and corals from Coralaxy a few times now and they’re still alive till this day. I think the key to this success is that these corals are all aquacultured and the fish are tank-bred. They are acclimated to living inside our aquariums.

Some pictures I took of my 20 gallon frag tank, the corals are looking GREAT! My dream setup would be a much larger, and even shallower tank.. it’s a great way to observe and grow tons of species! 🪸

Sad to hear about Brian Barczyk‘s passing. He has been an inspiration to so many people in the reptile and aquarium hobby. I am sure Brian’s family and friends will make sure his legacy lives on! My deepest condolences go out to them.

Brian’s fight is over, no more pain and suffering. Rest in peace, friend! 🙏

More than the guiding light of our organization, Brian's fervent passion for reptiles and wildlife, along with his steadfast dedication to education, has touched innumerable hearts and minds globally.

Our deepest sympathies are with Brian's family, his friends, and all those whose lives he has touched. We've lost an exceptional individual – a visionary, mentor, and friend. For those of us who had the privilege of working alongside him, Brian's absence leaves an immeasurable void.

A fish keepers worst NIGHTMARE! A leak! 💦

One of the most intriguing aspects of the Coral Triangle is the fact that geological activity has lifted ancient coral reefs out of the water, creating limestone karst Islands with incredible spatial complexity that now have their own live fringing reefs. A perfect biodiversity engine.

💥NEW VIDEO💥 In this video we're talking about how I automated my reef tank setup. Every piece of reef tank equipment is automated through apps on my mobile phone. This makes maintaining my reef tank so much easier!

We're checking out the Reef Kinetics ReefBot Lab I installed on my 40 gallon shallow reef tank a few months ago and see how it works! It tests my aquarium water automatically!
