Off back to Greece again in 2 weeks some awesome drone shots 🔥🇬🇷

Last time I came with my drone, I still had extreme drone anxiety on top of getting used to the Mavic 3 Classic and it’s behaviour. But this time, I will make finally make shots of the Acropolis that I only ever dreamed of making ❤️

✨ *a little introduction* ✨
Hello Instagram! My name is Alexander and after 11 years of being on Instagram already, i decided to start this account completely fresh.

I’m a Cyber Security engineer by trade, but my absolute burning passion in life is capturing my visions and ideas on my cameras, and bringing them to a screen later (the bigger the better).

Around 5 years ago, when I lived in Wiltshire, England, I slowly formed the wild dream of becoming a Film Director & Cinematographer bringing films to the big screen after having grown up in the golden age of historical epics such as , , and of course, the trilogy. I had no business at all dreaming of dreams that big, I didn’t know the first thing about videography, nor photography at that point.

But as I hit 30 last month, I made the decision to commit 100% to this idea, this dream, this craft I feel I was always meant to do with my life.

I therefore thought it was a good time to start documenting my journey in filmmaking, whether as a simple content creator, a director, even a cinematographer. Who knows where this will end up, but I’m excited to see where I am at 40 years old.

Sometimes I like to combine my new creating skills with my old content and make Hollywood-style posters/photographs.

This in particular was inspired by the Blade Runner 2049 poster with the orange & turquoise colours being complete opposites on the Colour scope.

All this overly fancy camera stuff that I’m doing? I didn’t go to school for any of it. No film school, no photography training, not even an online course, nothing.

It’s all years of trial and error and I promise you that literally anyone can do it. There is no magic fairy dust you need to have at the bottom of your camera bag. It’s all just practice.

So just start already 💪

While social media became the great addiction of our generation, Tik Tok took it to a whole new level of danger. Some of us got curious to try out the new big thing, others more reluctant to do so, and many creators followed over out of necessity to stay relevant rather than a desire to create for TikTok. As I got more success in TikTok, I realised I spent most of my day on my phone checking numbers and doomscrolling instead of actually working on things that mattered to me. I got addicted.

One day I decided to just delete the account I worked on, along with the app and never looked back. Since I did away with the app, I spent less time on my phone and more time outside filming, taking hikes and reconnecting with old passions and as a result, I had a much better mental clarity and wellbeing. I definitely recommend deleting this app to anyone that feels stuck in doomscrolling and can't live without it.

To be honest, it actually wasn't as difficult as I expected to quit the app. I am now 2 months without Tik Tok and I feel better than ever. If you give it a shot, I'm sure you will experience the same benefits as I did. Enjoy the video!!!

Hollywood preset is coming nicely 💪 Softer curves, less contrast, recalibration of colours to differentiate from the Carinthian Alps preset.

Presets pack 2.0 on the way too I guess haha 😅

Working a Lightroom preset and video LUT that resembles the teal-ish yellow colour grade often seen in Hollywood cinematography. Still got quite a way to go first however.

The picture is from 2017 as part of a historical/gothic project that I took up after I had to give up music.

Before I was a camera guy, I was a musician 🎶 I left my family and home at 17 to chase a big dream that got cut short due to losing all muscle memory after a chest surgery in 2017. That's actually why I got more into cameras in the first place, something to replace music until I could play again.

So I finally got my old guitar back from England and have been breaking my fingers ever since relearning everything I used to play 😎

It's unclear if I'll write another album for the next year but I'll certainly keep the idea open!
