We had a fantastic plant based tasting menu at No. Twelve in Nottingham last night to celebrate a year since Ryan popped the question and I said yes. 😊

It was also Ryan’s first ever tasting menu experience and he loved it. 🙌 I want to thank No. Twelve so much as I have been looking for a long time for a restaurant that offers a tasting menu who were willing to cater for Ryan’s food allergies. I have spoken to numerous restaurants who turned us away saying they simply wouldn’t be able to prepare dishes for him, however No. Twelve were happy to adapt things to work for him and he had several dishes that were tweaked and customised to work for his needs. For example, my bourguignon dish was beetroot and onion with a charred shallot while his was beetroot and leek with a charred mushroom!

Ryan’s allergic to nuts, peanuts and onion (plus fish, shellfish and raw egg which aren’t an issue at plant based restaurant obviously).

The whole menu was EXCEPTIONAL, we were absolutely blown away by everything! My favourite savoury was the squash dish which was a mixture of squash on a seed purée and it was absolutely divine! Probably a close second was the amuse bouche celeriac and donkey carrot dish as it was just delicious and I LOVE celeriac.

My fave dessert was the basil sponge, it was absolutely my kind of sweet dish and so light and full of flavour! I love the combo of typically savoury flavours blended into desserts, fabulous!

If you are plant based, just love plant based food or want to find out just how good plant based food can be, this is the place to go! At £60 per head for the tasting menu (without pairings) it doesn’t cost the earth but everything is stunning. You can also dine in for lunch and dinner as a usual restaurant without having the tasting menu specifically.

Thank you so much again to the whole team accommodating us and not making us feel like we a pain because of our dietary requirements.
