arjunamusic is a Berlin based, independent platform for electronic and acoustic music founded in 2012 run by Samuel Rohrer. The wish to achieve as much artistic freedom as possible, which grew out of the essential realization that happiness is not emerging out of external success, rat

her the urge and the freedom to create. This is the essential basis to unfold a strong personal statement and builds a foundation to create a platform for unique and personal music. If you love what you do or do what you love, success follows as a logical event. - This, i believe, must be the initial feeling and motivation for any honest and intuitive action. With its various associated artists, the label has a broad scope which is not limited to one named stylistic or genre. Ranging from acoustic chamber-like music to electro-acoustic improvised music, from club music to electronica and alternative/experimental songwriting, the main goal is to provide a safe home for unique, relevant and timeless music, to finally reach an open minded audience. The three sub series of the Label are not meant to describe a style or to put music into frames, it’s first of all about the surrounding in which the musical ideas are put into or built on. The soul of the music cant be touched and its not in our interest to make big spirits small by naming any styles or genres. Electronic and electro-acoustic experimental music, as well as house and techno oriented work. arjunamusic - Acoustic Series. Features acoustic releases in the field of improvised and experimental music. arjunamusic - Extended Series. This series relates to the others, with music based on song structures and features alternative pop and song oriented music, including voice and lyrics.

"Sun Electric—the duo of Tom Thiel and Max Loderbauer—deserve more attention. Between 1990 and 1998, they carved out a uniquely colorful sound, beginning with lush fusions of techno, ambient, and trance on 1990’s Kitchen, delivering an ambient techno masterpiece with 1995’s 30.7.94 Live, and then going full IDM with 1996’s Present and 1998’s Via Nostra, which take elements of Aphex Twin, Autechre, and Squarepusher and sharpen them to glistening metallic points (or, alternately, inflate them into enormous translucent balloons). This 1996 live set captures them sculpting a handful of tracks from Present, alongside early single “Aaah!” and a few exclusives, into sleek cosmic voyagers. You can tell they’re actually playing these tracks, live, because they sound considerably different from their album versions (and not just because of the extensive reverb from the Viennese church where they played, which they seem to have woven back into the final mix, along with audience noise in between some tracks). It’s a reminder of a time when Sun Electric were making some of the most sumptuous electronic music on the planet, while melting distinct subgenres into a one-of-a-kind alloy."

„Producer Tom Thiel has worked in the medium of electronic music since the 1980s, been active in
the musical epicenter of Berlin since 1987 and with the Sun Electric duo, he was already at the forefront of live / “real time” electronica since the 1990s.
Incidentally, Sun Electric are set to release an archival live set from this period on Arjunamusic later
this year.
Though not everyone becomes exceptional on the basis of “veteran” status alone, Thiel’s latest work shows that he has made good on one of the main promises held out by electronic music and sound synthesis: namely, that it would also provide unexpected, novel, highly individualized syntheses of
different attitudes, atmospheres, and affects. This is happily the case with Thiel’s new Arjunamusic release (his first full solo outing since his eponymous 2011 album): it’s a series of colorful, selfcontained vignettes that are perceptibly drawn from an eclectic pool of personal experiences and insights.“
