BROADBAND INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAM RECEIVES 124 APPLICATIONS REQUESTING $221 MILLION

The Wisconsin Broadband Office received 124 applications requesting $221.6 million for the Broadband Infrastructure Grant Program.

In the northwoods area that My Northern Wisconsin covers, there were eight applications, including Norvado in Ashland County; Frontier Communications in Lincoln County; Mosaic Technologies, Norvado (covering two areas), and Spectrum in Sawyer County; Bug Tussel in Taylor County; and SonicNet in Vilas County. MUSKY LURE NO LONGER STUCK IN DEER'S MOUTH

A photo of a deer with a musky fishing lure stuck in its mouth was making its rounds on social media. Many people were concerned about the deer and were making comments and sharing the photo and its caption, which stated the DNR would not do anything to help the deer. The deer was seen in the Springstead area. My Northern Wisconsin contacted the DNR on February 13, 2023 to see what could be done. Read more by clicking the link.

SUPREME COURT RULES ON VACCINE MANDATE

Moments ago, The Supreme Court, in a split decision, has decided that private businesses cannot be made to enforce the federal vaccine mandate on their employees. They have kept the stay on that; the vaccine mandate cannot be controlled by OSHA. However, those that are federally-funded, such as health care facilities, must implement the mandate.
