Sarewa Radio is world’s first online radio station solely dedicated to Hausa musicians. There is a wealth of underrepresented talent in the Hausa music community, stifled by Nigerian government regulations and limited channels through which musicians can distribute their work. Until now, Hausa musicians have had no choice but release their music through underground marketers, making them vulnerable to these pirates exploitations. Sarewa Radio finally gives these talented Hausa musicians a trusted resource for broadcasting their musical creations and messages to an international audience. As an online radio station, Sarewa Radio will be accessible not only those with computer and internet access, but also to rapidly growing community of mobile device users. Listeners will have 24 hour access to Hausa music, interviews with upcoming and established artists, and the latest Hausa entertainment news. Sarewa Radio is founded by, Nazir “Ziriums” Hausawa, a self-made, Hausa musician and professional sound engineer.
