Excited to announce that I’m recontesting my seat as ZICA Council Member representing commerce and industry. Your support and trust have been invaluable, and I am eager to continue the positive impact we've made on our esteemed community. Together, let’s shape the future of our profession and reach new heights of success and innovation.
During my current tenure as a ZICA Council Member, we have collectively achieved significant successes, making strides towards shaping the future of our profession and fostering a strong, interconnected accounting community in Zambia.
One of our key achievements has been enhancing membership engagement. By promoting inclusivity and fostering open dialogue, we have ensured that every member's voice is heard and represented in decision-making processes. This approach has not only empowered our members but also strengthened the sense of belonging and collaboration within our institute.
Another vital accomplishment has been fostering mutual recognition among various professional bodies. Through successful memoranda of understanding with various organizations and stakeholders, we have facilitated cooperation and collaboration within the accounting profession. This has contributed to harmonizing standards and practices and bolstering our collective influence in the field.
Additionally, we have taken great strides in strengthening our global ties. Collaborating with various stakeholders, including international professional bodies, regulators, academia, and industry leaders, we have broadened our horizons and promoted a globally connected accounting community. This interconnectedness has opened doors to new opportunities for our members to excel on the international stage.
Further, I am delighted to share that we have achieved a significant milestone by securing mutual recognition with the Society of Professional Accountants of Canada. This achievement has enhanced our international recognition and cooperation, furthering opportunities for professional growth and advancement for our members.
Lastly, we have dedicated efforts to support and nurture the future leaders and innovators of our profession through student engagement initiatives. Investing in our young talents is essential to ensure the continued prosperity and sustainability of our profession.
While I am truly grateful for the progress we've made together, there is still much more to be done. With your unwavering support, we can build up on these accomplishments and create an even brighter future for ZICA.
