Sleepbot Environmental Broadcast

on 2024-Dec-28, there were 41 new tracks introduced to the broadcast pool. in total, they contribute *58 hours* to the stream. that's because most of them are timestretched

mr. Eno's Ambients 1-3 are included, as is the 3rd movement of Beethoven's 9th & Tangerine Dream's Rubycon. these timestretches will be rare additions to the playlist (since they're so impactful) ... but for the first week or so, that's all you're going to be hearing on the station 🙂 because that's how long it's going to take to play every track twice

📣 as of 2024-Jun-30, there will be a new relay available -- shoutcaststreaming.xyz:8218/seb

it will be taking the place of the primary relay -- sc13.shoutcaststreaming.us:8218/seb -- which has been running for years. that relay could go down at any point starting immediately, but it's likely to be shut down the weekend of July 6th

this transition is in the spirit of continuing the peaceful service that SEB has offered for the past 25 years

UPDATE: as of 2023-Aug-28 21:00 Eastern, the primary relay is back online

as of the evening of 2023-Aug-28, the primary SEB relay is down. the hosting provider is doing what it can to restore service

UPDATE

the station is back online!f

SEB WILL BE TEMPORARILY OFFLINE

the station is going to be undergoing some changes in early February. unfortunately, this means that the station is going to be offline for *more than a week*

- starting Thu Feb 9th
- through Fri Feb 17th

there may be some additional spottiness between now (2023-Jan-30) and then as well. please bear with us.

there was a very long outage today, Jan 14th, from about 1pm to 9:30pm PST. a power outage

the station is back online

as of Tue, Jan 3rd, there seems to be some issue with the primary SEB relay. i hope it will self-recover, because it's out of my hands at the moment

the station has been a bit unstable for the last 24 hours, but that should all be behind us now

the 'disturbance' started with the transmitter losing its internet connection, then continued on through an annual server upgrade

UPDATE: i had to stop & restart the transmission. i have no idea why, but the primary relay just couldn't handle the stream it was getting

the primary relay is down. i am not sure why. i'm going to contact my hosting provider about that tomorrow

*yes*. there is, in fact, a problem with SEB at the moment. the Transmitter won't stay connected to the primary Server

my ISP is truncating the stream connection once every hour. and there is nothing i can do about it

i will keep you posted if i find a workaround. i am _very sorry_ for the degraded experience

I have just re-launched the S E B website. It's gone through a major overhaul. And maybe, in another 15 years, I'll do it again :)

OMG

i am *very* sorry, but it looks like i broke the Listen link at about 8pm this past Saturday. i was "making improvements" -- which resulted in a really crappy HTTP 404 improvement for my listeners

my apologies. bug fixed. commit pushed. server re-deployed. the Listen link works properly again.
