Tiny will be one of five shorts screening in this year's New Indigenous Short Films program this Saturday June 15th, 2024 at 3PM at The Hollywood Theatre in Portland, Oregon.

Our team is incredibly honoured to receive this award, especially through this festival that supports and creates community around environmental advocacy in film.

We're thrilled that two filmmakers, whose work is featured in the 33rd annual World Community Film Festival, will be in attendance! Ritchie Hemphill, along with his mother Colleen Hemphill (the film's narrator) will be at the opening night screening of "Tiny". "Tiny" is a richly detailed stop motion film in which Colleen Hemphill tells the story of life growing up on a float house near Alert Bay.
Filmmaker Ali Grant and producer Cari Green will attend the screening of their film "Not Quite That". Not Quite That Documentary is an intimate and insightful exploration of how we are seen and how we see ourselves, especially people who identify as LGBTQ+. 🌿 Məca is a stop motion representation of the late Elder Ida Smith telling her grandson the 'Nakwax'daxw legend of the Mink. In this film Ida tells the story in the Bak̓wa̱mk̓ala language. Mink, or "Məca", is an impatient son of the Sun who is trying to force himself into being someone other than he is, so that he can impress love interests. Throughout his journey Məca will learn what it means to have humility, patience, and to be better at self acceptance.
