No more chiefs but a lot of soga'imiti's.

Has the pe'a or soga'imiti / malu lost its rich inheritance with this generation who urge to wear one for the wrong reasons?

The only time you see a Pe'a these days with the younger generation here in Aus or Nz is when they are either drunk or about to fight. Social media is flooded with these pictures of the sacred tatau now being used as a symbol of power and strength to intimidate others who don't have one. But there is a handful who carry the traditional way of how to present the Pe'a when it is necessary with pride entering into the chiefhood teachings .

This generation needs the education before receiving the traditional tatau because it is no longer sacred and it's now presented to the world as just a typical samoan tattoo.

Make the 🦇 sacred again.
