Message from the Station Manager of International Pagan Radio
Greetings to our valued listeners, artists, and platform partners,
I feel it is time to speak openly about an issue that has been quietly unfolding for some time regarding Harold Sanford Carter III. Out of respect for transparency and to uphold our commitment to professionalism, I would like to provide some context and clarification.
Some time ago, Harold had a private and personal falling out with Melissa Anderson, for whom he had been working. As a result of that conflict, Melissa made the decision to remove his content from her platforms. Despite this, International Pagan Radio continued to play Harold’s music. We did not take sides, instead choosing to separate personal matters from our professional commitment to supporting artists and their creative work.
However, Harold responded by publicly attacking both Melissa’s platform and International Pagan Radio. He made claims that we were restricting access to his content and accused us of censorship. In an effort to resolve the matter, our Media Manager, William Brigley, personally reached out to Harold. William reminded him that we were still playing his music and informed him that Melissa had specifically asked us not to remove it, despite their personal disagreement. Rather than easing tensions, Harold escalated his attacks, publicly targeting both William and International Pagan Radio on social media.
After repeated attempts to de-escalate the situation, I, as station manager, made the difficult decision to remove Harold’s content from our playlist. I could no longer justify promoting the work of someone who was actively and continuously attacking our station and a member of our leadership team.
Let me be clear: this decision was not about silencing Harold’s voice or suppressing his freedom of speech. We continue to stand by the rights of artists and the legal use of copyrighted material. However, we also reserve the right to protect our platform and not provide a space for someone who chooses to publicly disparage us and our team members.
Since that time, both other platforms and artists have reached out to us privately with questions about Harold. Many of these artists have expressed concerns about associating with him. In each case, William Brigley has provided our honest account of the situation, supported by evidence, and has allowed them to make their own decisions without any pressure or recommendation from us. We emphasize to both platforms and artists that their choices are entirely their own and that their relationship with us will not be impacted unless their choice negatively affects our professional stance.
Recently, Harold has escalated his campaign, accusing us of suppressing his freedom of speech and likening us to government efforts to curtail expression. These claims are both misleading and false. We have never, and will never, suppress the voice of any artist. However, we will not host the content of someone who repeatedly attacks our station and leadership.
To our community: I hold no personal animosity toward Harold. I respect everyone’s right to speak their truth. At the same time, we have the right to protect the integrity and reputation of International Pagan Radio. I feel it is important to address this matter publicly to counter the rumors and misinformation that have been circulating.
