This year my goal is to gain more self confidence and to not be afraid of my potential. There’s a 50% chance that you fail, but there’s also a 50% chance that you succeed. Either way, you tried!

I’m also manifesting that I can have more opportunities to take dynamic pictures like this one. I kind of get tired of taking portraits. I really want to learn photography, and not only take pics of me but of others and cool places around my city!

These pics are so important to me because they showcase the early years of my goth aesthetic discovery. I had always known that my style was a bit different from the norm, but I never got to express myself bc of being afraid of what people would think, what family would say, how I’d be treated.

But 2020 was such a pivotal year for me, as it was for so many others. During the start of the pandemic I was forced to really take a deeper look into myself, the trauma I had been through, the ways I had repressed who I really was. Some days it hurt, there were plenty of nights I cried myself to sleep.

But through that something beautiful happened—it birthed who I came to be, my truest form, who I was always meant to be. From then on, I went by “Kitty Moon”.

So I just realized that July is BIPOC Mental Health Month so I decided to make a quick post.

Lately my mental health has been rather good, but today was kinda rough. I went to the doctors and saw my weight and it kind of triggered me, I’ve been trying to lose weight for a couple of months now but it seems like nothing I do works. I was pretty depressed about it today, but after doing some reflection and self care I realized that I am in control of my life. I may need to rework how I eat, exercise, and my habits but I’ve been doing a lot for myself just from the little changes I have made and that is a huge accomplishment. I’m not going to beat myself up when the beginning of the year I couldn’t even get out of my bed bc of my depression.

So I guess I’m saying all of this to say don’t give up, it may seem like your goals are so far out of reach but you got this, just keep on trying, and don’t give up on yourself.
