The BH backlogs have been copy pasted, podcast scripts cut up and moved around, zines typed up from barely legible typewritten mess to barely readable word documents, unfinished drafts turned into incomplete essays, and all typeset and bound in a self-published limited first edition of 150 numbered books! Only been selling to subscribers as a thank you for signing up to this mess, but will be available for $26.90 at this launch showwww on Sept 8th.

We'll also be hosting an open invite DIY Swap Meet around the venue! Bring your records, tapes, zines, shirts for trade or sale on the day.. the 150 7"s that didn't sell as well as planned? The undersized cropped hardcore tee that's not as flattering as it used to be? Find 'em a new and loving home!

Bands include a number of Sydney's best including BED WETTIN' BAD BOYS, ITCHY & THE NITS, PHOTOGENIC, OSBO and JACKY WÜNDER. Music will start after 3pm with swap meet commencing an hour earlier for a lower sensory hour (no music, smaller crowds) for anyone who needs or would appreciate.

Tickets are $20-30 PWYC on the door or via the presale link in bio. Free tickets for First Nations attendees in acknowledgement of this event occuring on stolen, unceded Gadigal land.

The band room is located up a steep flight of stairs or via a ramp designed for vehicles. Chair access is possible, though the ramp is steep and will require assistance. Please DM us, a member of the bands or speak to venue staff to arrange help if required.

A donation will be made to Palestine Australia Relief & Action (PARA) from ticket sales. Barely Human stands against genocide, for a Free Palestine, and always in solidarity with the oppressed.

The zine & tape due in October 2023 hath finally arrived... PUNKINTERN features four 1980s punk & hardcore acts from four corners of the globe dabbling in images of anarchocommunism. Hear THE DICKS from Texas unite with THE STALIN from Fukushima on Side A; hear ZOUNDS from Reading mingle with KINA from Aosta... then pogo to the Internationale.

A preamble to the zine up now at mebarelyhuman.substack.com eith the physical deal shipping to existing subscribers. This one seems to have tickled the subscription base, losing four (👀) yet gaining the interest of more than I can handle (ironically...ran out of red paper), but email [email protected] if you'd like to purchase one ($15AUD or package deals by request). In October of 2021, an email arrived in the Barely Human inbox titled 'Error Filled Podcast.' Normally we might have looked past it, mistakes being mistakes, except that it came from Clarke Blacker of Stick Men With Ray Guns: the band profiled as the Bu****le Surfers' significantly more underground parallel in BH008. Clarke outlined a number of mistakes we had made, from incorrectly naming band members, to errors in dates and the approach of the episode... so after emailing back and forth for a few weeks, we decided to record an interview that goes back over the Stick Men With Ray Guns story properly.

The introduction features producer Jason L'Ecuyer and writer/host Max Easton discussing how the errors came to be and reflecting on the series (which wrapped in April of 2020 as the first wave of COVID-19 descended.)

The interview with Clarke begins at 00:15:30 and covers ground ranging from how Clarke arrived in the world of Texas punk, the formation of Stick Men With Ray Guns; the band's troubles with recording; the life of Bobby Soxx and its controversies; the band's philosophy, approach and legacy; and Clarke's more recent music projects.
