It's been a min, but a quite a bit has happened. I started experiencing severe pain around my left lower side that started a little over a week ago. The pain was so bad, I cleared a full bottle of painkillers in 2 days (yes I know it wasn't normal, but I needed something to even sit or sleep). It ended up getting much worse Saturday morning. After 5 hours of being in the worse pain I felt, they decided I needed surgery that day. It turned out to be a 14cm mass around my left o***y. Ultimately they had to remove the mass and the o***y. I'm now trying to wrap my head around I just had a partical hysterectomy. I mentioned this because this is the second time I've ever been hospitalized and also correlates with a health scare. It's scary because I've seen the effects of such a procedure result in weight gain. Im already experiencing this now. For those who followed me, I lost over 120+ over the last year and the thought it might be reversing due to effects of such a procedure is real. I truly want to be the best version of myself, so I hope to come up with ways to fight those effects and what I can do to better my health even more. I'm still recovering, but I think it's important I try to post about my progress in this because I know women go through this everyday, and kinda feel defeated when they read their hormones won't allow them to possibly lose weight the same.

In this journey, it's not only to be important that I get me body better physically, but understand what I need to handle in managing my mood as well. Mental health in the recovery is just as important as physical. Considering my experience was kinda traumatizing, I'm glad I'm about to live another day to create much better experiences. We made it! I should have taken these before the show, but I thought I was late, only to be told I was an hour early 😅 🙃... but it would have looked a lil better before I was smashing the food tho 😆. It's okay to eat things, you just have to remember moderation! Stay blessed 🙌

Late post 😑: the pics I took were from Friday and I meant to post but you know... life lol. But in spite of the female thing (you know lol).I still managed to lose an extra pound. Usually I would be bloated, however putting tumeric on just about everything I ate along with constant hydration helped me offset the effects. Plus the waist trainer didn't hurt either lol. But I'll post my ultimate progress tomorrow since I gotta fit in that dress tomorrow. Wish me luck! So far 11lbs down! Let's go!

ACCOUNTABILITY: So I'm down officially down exactly 7lbs 😍. This has been a fairly decent week for staying consistent on the goal. The key is hydration! I've been very intentional with drinking plenty of water and need to flush out the inflammation that was built up. Good salads, and fresh fruits were definitely key. Also adding tumeric to most things have been helpful. I don't mind eating like that because it's now normal to do. I do limit my protein to reduce further inflammation, which is why I fancy myself a flexitarian. But progress is being made! About to head to the gym!

Day one down 5 lbs (I was a lil shook seeing that myself, but it all goes to how I mentioned most of that was inflammation) and what's been my go to for breakfast has been this new plant based smoothie I saw at Walmart! I didn't catch all I had yesterday, but I also had what I got pictured here for dinner and I don't see myself being tired of it lol. It's a healthy choice Adobo chicken bowl with added fresh cilantro , lime juice, chiptole seasoning, salsa Verde, a lil lemon pepper seasoning (all saltless), tumeric, romaine salad mix with plenty of water. Hydration is key in really flushing . But progress is already being made. I'll post a progress pics tomorrow

TRANSPARENCY MONDAY: I don't mind posting this because I know this happens to a lot of women and men, but I have a SUPER good weekend lol. I ate everything... you hear me everything! Now I'm up 12 lbs 😱 and have the biggest event I've never gone to coming up and I want to look my best. Will I cancel? Nope! I'll see this as a challenge to lose this weight before Sunday! It's possible because I know most of this is inflammation from the mess I ate. So I figured this week be a great opportunity to take yall along on my journey to get snatched lol. I'll post daily on what steps I'm taking to get there in hopes it may inspire someone who feels like they should stop off they gain some weight back. The first step, be gentle with yourself and understand I'm human. Second step, take my butt to the gym lol. Third step, walk, walk and get that waist trainer on ALL WEEK! I'll post progress pics every 2 days for accountability. LET'S GO!

Ooohh, I forgot to mention my quick and easy weeknight pasta dish! In 30 minutes!
Tuscan Chicken Pasta with gluten-free pasta!

You don't have to use gluten free, but it has proven for my tummy to be the best digestible lol.

Ingredients:
Gluten-free penne pasta
Tyson Chicken breast cubed
Butter
Minced garlic
Garlic and herbs Mrs Dash
Lemon pepper Mrs Dash
Salt
Tumeric (for inflammation reduction 😉)
Basil
Zucchini
Squash
Sun dried tomatoes
Some of your favorite pasta sauce (I like the great value tomato and basil sauce)
Fresh spinach
Lots of love ❤ 😍

In a pot, bring to a rolling boil water and add your pasta of choice (whether gluten or non gluten) and cook until a little over al-dente (for non gluten-free just al-dente, it has a slightly different texture).
In a sauce pan melt a lil butter (yeah I said "lil" lol) and start with the chicken and add the seasonings and garlic. Let that cook for 5 minutes. Then add in the rest of the ingredients and let it simmer for 10 minutes. If it get a little dry as it simmers, add some of the pasta water and it'll help it thicken and replenish that moisture. Then drain that pasta, transfer to sauce pan and let it mingle for a couple of minutes and BAM! A great healthy dish with a great easy dish with veggies, protein and carbs all in one! Great with garlic bread 🍞! Enjoy!

Man on man, it's been a while since I posted anything about my progress, primarily because I've been plateauing and that's fine. I'm always practicing being gentle on myself through this process. So it's been about a week and a half since I weighed myself and Chile I'm at 203.4! We're making progress!

SW: 347
CW: 203.4

Total loss: 143.6 lbs!

Just gratitude! We're almost there!

NSV: yall I got my first bathing suit! I never had one since I usually went with shorts and a t-shirt, but I got in one! I still feel somewhat self-conscious, but I'm going to try jumping out of my comfort zone and test the waters lol. I treated my mom to a Spa day Kings & Queens Salon and Spa for her upcoming birthday and even got a lil sum sum at 4th street hotdogs. Both business were black owned! Yall stay blessed!

It has truly been a full day, it definitely has. I was (and still kinda) working off of 4 hours of sleep, no nap and moved my stuff into my new place, went to the Riverwalk to relax, and went and bought my very first lingerie ever lol. It was only for the purpose of an event I was invited to. I don't even know how I even functioned, but i did. Never had any, and I signed up for a "afterdark sexy session" with MILFS Training LLC ... I was super nervous because I'm not a dancer ... I was invited by Rolesta, the founder of this establishment (truly wish her a speedy recovery). She asked me if I danced, and I replied "he'll nah" lol, but she asked me to try it out. But this was beyond just a dance class because words of affirmation were spoken and the energy of women empowerment was abundant throughout the whole session. They even cheered me on some even though I realize I got auntie hips and knees 🤣! I am grateful for the experience!
