Official music video ‘Cardano Circles’’ created for Max Cooper’s immersive live show, ‘Seme’, commissioned by Salzburg Easter Festival (on 28 March 2024, also performed at the Barbican London on 4+5 April).
Max’s collaboration with Carillo arose from referencing Gerolamo Cardano’s “Cardano Circles” system from around 1570, and how the mechanism turns straight lines into circles, a process involved in early printing press technology in Italy.
- Dichromanticism, is out on Fri 19 July as a digital EP. Pre-order via link in bio
Following his critically-acclaimed debut album Biome in 2021, Llyr shared fresh original music on the imprint at the end of 2023 as part of the newly launched Lattice project - a series of releases that blend cutting-edge electronics with references from across the musical spectrum.
Expanding on this notion with Dichromanticism, Llyr merges the layered world-building and storytelling flow from his ecological works with physical, groove-laden workouts. We’re ushered through broken rhythms as well as four-to the-floor territory, evoking his home of Berlin as well as giving a nod to his UK roots.

Mesh Mix Series 029: Thomas Ridley
—————————————————————————————
A curated series where we commission artists to make a mix of whatever inspires them to experiment, produce and what they listen to.
The latest Mesh mix arrives in the form of bristolian artist and producer, Thomas Ridley. Cutting his teeth in the world of analogue electronic composition and live performance. Thomas takes a collage-like approach to recording and resampling a small collection of analogue instruments, in search of compositions that are imaginative and unwieldy.
This mix showcases the dark, often euphoria inducing, clubbier sounds to his musical palette, and at intervals applying a psy-bending-repetitive blend of beats, tones, vocals and stabs. Listen loud.

A curated series where we commission artists to make an hour long mix of whatever inspires them to experiment, produce, and what they listen to.

Indian Wells - Calabrian Woods , a short film by Lawrie Miller is out today. Watch full video in link in bio In the video for Indian Wells’ new single ‘Calabrian Woods’, graphic designer and animator Lawrie Miller takes the viewer on a tangling and esoteric voyage into the inner works of a deconstructed Judith Scott sculpture. Scott was an internationally renowned artist born with down-syndrome and deaf who received much critical acclaim for her projects. Scott had an innate talent for fiber art, creating over 200 textile sculptures during her career. The video depicts a completely different way of contemplating Scott's work, painstakingly adjoining several fibers, twine, plastics and textiles - making unseemly objects into something beautifully abstract and utterly visually gratifying. A standing testament to resilience in the face of adversity. #judithscott #sculpture #film #audiovisual #experimentalart #visualart #electronica #electronicmusic #indianwells
'Float' by Voltaine captures the grace and power of the human figure in motion. It explores forms of repetition found in nature and applies them to modern dance in a way only possible using the procedural nature of the Houdini visual effects workflow. The piece combines a variety of techniques including motion capture, modelling, animation and generative shading. Original audio also by Voltaine. Rendered in 3D using Houdini and Octane Render. #digitalart #experimentalmusic #render #3D #octanerender #houdini #motionflow #motiongraphics
“This project is a study on stripping away and simplifying. I wanted to see if there was a way to present these compositions in a minimalist way that was still interesting and emotionally compelling. It’s definitely an exercise in restraint, as I tend to be quite a maximalist when composing.” Reid Willis - 'Mother Of - Piano Reworks', Live at The Marigny Opera House in New Orleans. A cinematic orchestral creative experience, Mother Of - Piano Reworks, follows the release of the intricately and exquisitely re-mastered Dolby Atmos version of Mother Of, enabling listeners to experience the original album at its most stunning and spell-binding depth, showcasing Willis' adept skills as sound designer and composer. Stream and buy digi here: https://ffm.to/pianoreworks Willis describes Piano Reworks as “a study on stripping away and simplifying" and "an exercise in restraint," as the artist worked against his own maximalist instincts to present his compositions in their most fragile and vulnerable state. With the original songs, Willis admits that he "tends to be a bit more deceptive, tucking a melodic core behind a wall of percussion and sound design." In these piano reworks, those melodic elements are front and center, bare and crystalline.
Live from the Acropolis is out today Stream / download on Bandcamp here: https://ffm.to/liveattheacropolis Max Cooper,”Performing at Herodes Atticus theatre was an intense experience. It’s a huge natural amphitheatre built into the hill of the Acropolis in Athens, and while being a space for 5000 audience, it also has the acoustics such that a single un-amplified speaker can be heard from the back of the seating area. So it simultaneous has a huge and intimate feel, along with its history. We tried to capture this feel of the space and the interaction of the audience with me, with a mics around the theatre. There’s also some new music in there which hasn’t been played / released previously. I hope you enjoy it, and can get a sense of being there. And for those of you interested in the full film as well as the audio, more info on that soon 😉”. The video features work by Jessica In , Kevin McGloughlin, Páraic McGloughlin, Nick Cobby and Andy Lomas with lots of shots of the Swarm short film by the McGloughlin brothers, more on the visual aspects of the show shortly
Max Cooper - Performing on the site of the Acropolis was an overwhelming experience, an extremely intense gig scenario. Max Cooper is set to release his first ever live album, live at the Acropolis, out this Fri 29 October. Pre-save and pre-order the album below - More info coming soon Here: https://ffm.to/liveattheacropolis “I wanted to use the spectacle and feel of the space, to work with it, rather than just at it. So, in collaboration with Athens Epidaurus Festival and Plissken Festival, we worked to create a visualisation to cover the ancient monument of the Herodes Atticus Theatre, with a semi-transparent screen so that the architecture was always present at the same time as having a full fidelity image. We captured the ambient sound of the space and the interaction of the audience with me, so the live recording has some of the special acoustics and feel of the space. I hope you enjoy it, and can get a sense of being there.” - Max Cooper Video features 'Symmetry' feat. Tom Hodge from the Emergence project and visuals by Kevin McGloughlin

This was a test.” - Rob Clouth Tickets are available via https://www.starts.eu/ #ai #sonarfestival #machinelearning #artificialintelligence #visual #experimentalart #generativeart #art #algorithmicart
