We are thrilled to share the incredible collaboration between TTemple Israel (Memphis)and MMemphis 13 Foundationthrough the "Look Back, Launch Forward" Community Screening Series of TThe Memphis 13 Documentary

On June 25th, over 400 attendees gathered at Temple Israel for a memorable evening, featuring a reception, documentary screening, and an insightful Q&A session with members of the Memphis 13, moderated by Shelby County Commissioner Erika Sugarmon. This event honored the brave actions of the Memphis 13 who desegregated Memphis Public Schools in 1961.

Rabbi Micah Greenstein and DDwania Kyles Co-Founder and President of the Memphis 13 Foundation, emphasized the significance of this series in fostering community conversations about inclusion, tolerance, and social change.
