What is it that fuels you? For me, it’s traveling and learning about new forms of art and culture.
As an everlasting culture and folklore fanatic, everything started with a little girl’s illusion, passion and desire to discover the world. A fanatic love for culture which has always been bigger than myself... So big that I couldn’t even begin to explain it back then.
Growing up, I always had a love for performing arts and a genuine interest for different cultures, resulting in a big passion for the specific section of any country’s culture: folklore.
Even I didn’t fully understand it at first, I early in time realized my professional and personal life vocation would have to somehow be “travel-tourism” related.
Therefore, (around my secondary school years) I decided to study Tourism Business Management. Through my university years I struggled a little bit to understand where I actually stand on the Tourism Business Industry.
I couldn’t fully picture myself working 8 hr front desk jobs or enclosing myself into event planing offices, or even joining an everlasting tour desk job. Those controlling confining office type of jobs never looked appealing or slightly fulfilling for me.
Never the less, I got involved in many different culture-related activities such as becoming a tour guide in Monterrey’s Mexican History Museum (in the pre-hispanic exhibitions) and starting my own Radio Program called “El Saber del Pueblo”.
This “radio program” started with the dream of sharing the wonders of culture and folklore around the world. “Este programa comienza con el sueño de compartir las maravillas del folklore y la cultura al rededor del mundo, para ser apreciada y respetada con la finalidad de preservarla y revivirla con emoción y alegría en una larga cadena de amantes del saber...”
This and other culture related activities and jobs that I had the chance to participate in gave me the hope to keep perusing my calling for a better understanding and approach to my ultimate fulfilling life vision and lifestyle.
Now that I recently graduated from my career in December of 2019 I started a new journey: taking part on a ( what was first meant to be) year long internship in Bangkok, Thailand. Here, I started a little blog where I narrated the highlights of my everyday life as an Expat in a southeast Asian country...
How I joined a traditional Music and Dancing Club in one of the most important Universities in Thailand: Chulalongkorn University, and participated in their annual Palang singing and dancing Isan (northeast) traditional thai songs.
After six months working, I decided to resign my year long contract and start backpacking other southeast Asian countries from July to October 2019, visiting Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Laos, Cambodia and other parts of Thailand that I didn’t had the chance to visit during my internship.
Now after this 4 month southeast Asia backpacking experience, I’m heading to New Zealand along side one special person I met in Bangkok a few months ago for my next adventure.
Art, culture and traveling are truly my own little passion projects, gaining more and more traction each day. I love writing about my passions, what interest me, what interests others, and sharing all of my thoughts with you.
I hope you enjoy browsing my site and all of the unique content I have to offer. Take a look around; perhaps you’ll discover what fuels you as well. Read on and enjoy!
