Heritage Grocers Group is brightening the holidays for residents in the communities where Heritage banner grocery stores operate:

🎁The Cardenas Markets Foundation made donations totaling $50K to local food banks. An additional $50K is also being donated to almost 20 organizations.

🎁Tony’s Fresh Market based in Chicago donated $8K to the Berwyn holiday fund to feed 500+ families in Berwyn and surrounding communities. Plus, through the purchase of pre-packed bags, Tony’s partnered with the Prospect Heights Police Department to raise $5,730 in pantry staples to feed 100+ local families.

🎁Texas-based El Rancho Supermercado held several community events including drive-thru food giveaways in Dallas and Houston to provide pantry staples to local residents. In total, 3,200+ boxes of food were given away.

Kudos to Carolinas Food Industry Council (CFIC) for donating $50K to MANNA FoodBank in Asheville, NC. This donation comes at a crucial time as Western North Carolina continues to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Helene.

Last week, CFIC proudly donated $50,000 to MANNA FoodBank to aid in their recovery after . Floodwaters destroyed MANNA’s facility on September 27, 2024, wiping out food supplies, equipment, and infrastructure. Despite this devastation, MANNA resumed serving the community within three days and relocated to a new facility a week later.

The challenges remain immense: their new 84,000 sq. ft. building requires significant upgrades, including fire suppression systems, refrigeration, and storage, all while they continue to support over 150,000 people across 16 counties monthly.

CFIC’s leadership hopes this donation inspires others to give. Every $1 donated to MANNA provides 4 meals, and donors can trust their contributions will be impactful—MANNA has earned Charity Navigator’s highest rating for 12 consecutive years. Donate at https://donate.mannafoodbank.org/
