Ferrell Gas of Kuttawa, located at 5586 US Highway 62 West Kuttawa has scheduled work to be completed on their bulk storage tank. In preparation for the work the propane liquid and v***r must be removed from the tank. Ferrell Gas has already removed the liquid from the tank and now must remove the v***r that remains. Starting tomorrow morning (Friday, May 10th) at approximately 7:30 a.m., employees with Ferrell Gas will begin a flaring operation to burn off the v***r in the tank. This will require lines/piping to be connected to the tank and run over to the east end of the fenced compound. The line(s) will be connected to a flaring tree, which stands off the ground, where the v***r will be ignited and burnt off until the tank is empty. This is a standard operation in removing v***r from these storage tanks. This of course will result in a very obvious visible flame. Ferrell Gas staff will have to remain on site as long as the flaring operation is taking place. Once the tank is v***r free, Ferrell Gas will remove the internal valve on the tank in anticipation of the tank work. Even though the tank will be v***r free, propane odorant will still be able to be smelt/detected for days because of the removal of the internal valve. ALERT: Closure of KY 295 at Lyon-Crittenden County Line Due to Bridge Issue

Bridge beam deterioration cited for closure

PADUCAH, Ky. (March 7, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has closed a section of KY 295 at the Lyon-Crittenden County Line between Eddyville and Dycusburg today to ensure public safety after engineering inspections identified structural issues on a bridge. The section will be closed to traffic until further notice while engineers determine if the bridge can be repaired or replaced.

KY 295 is closed at Lyon County mile point 9.419 after a contract inspection team found deterioration of structural beams at the Livingston Creek Bridge. This is along KY 295 at Crittenden County mile point 0.0 between Joe Peek Road in Lyon County and Millie Peek Road in Crittenden County. Motorists should avoid the area, use an alternate route and plan more travel time for commutes. Signage and barricades will be posted miles ahead of the bridge to restrict travel.

Approximately 675 vehicles a day travel this section of KY 295 on average.

All Kentucky bridges get a detailed inspection every two years, with long-span river and lake bridges getting an extra walk-through inspection annually. KYTC certified inspectors are responsible for inspecting bridges on all public roads in the Commonwealth.

‼️TRAFFIC ALERT ‼️

TN construction hit a TVA pole right before 121 exit. The pole is across all I-65 North and South bound lanes. Traffic is being rerouted to exit 6. At this time there is no estimate for how long it will take to get I-65 open. KY State highway has been notified about the incident.
Expect more traffic in franklin around exit 6 and exit 2 areas, as well as longer wait times at traffic lights.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from the public in locating a missing juvenile last seen in McCracken County.

It was reported to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office that 15-year-old Lea Bowling was last seen in the area of Woodlawn Mobile Home Park off of 365 Meacham Ln, Paducah Kentucky on the afternoon of April 01, 2023.

Lea Bowling is described as a white female, standing approximately 5’3” tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds, with blue/green eyes and brown hair. Lea was last seen wearing a white sweatshirt and blue jeans.

If anyone sees Lea or knows of her whereabouts, they are asked to contact the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office at 270-444-4719 or their local law enforcement agency. Kentucky State Police Post 11 Arrest
Subject After Multiple Counties Pursuit

LONDON, Ky. (January 18, 2023) – The Kentucky State Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on I-75 South near the 83-mile marker in Madison County just after 10:12 AM today. The initial investigation indicated that the vehicle’s operator was driving carelessly.

The Trooper activated his emergency equipment and the vehicle initially stopped. Once Troopers approached the vehicle the unknown driver sped off and continued traveling south on I-75 at a high rate of speed through three counties. The fleeing vehicle struck several Kentucky State Police vehicles. In an effort to stop the vehicle a legal intervention maneuver was performed by KSP, and the fleeing vehicle became disabled at the 45-mile marker southbound in Laurel County. The driver, David Maurice Reed, 54 years old of St. Petersburg, FL, was arrested at that time without further incident.

Further investigation after the stop revealed a deceased female, who has not been positively identified at this time, located inside the vehicle. The cause of death is undetermined at this time, and foul play is suspected. The unknown female will be sent to the Kentucky State Medical Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.

Reed was charged with the following:

-Murder- Domestic Violence

-Tampering with Physical Evidence

Detective Ryan Loudermilk is continuing the investigation he was assisted by Kentucky State Police personnel, The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, Mount Vernon Police Department, and the Laurel County Corners Office.

Kentucky State Police Post 2 Searching For Escaped
Webster County Inmate



Dixon, Ky. (January 16, 2023) – Troopers with Kentucky State Police, Post 2 are searching for an inmate who escaped Webster County Detention Center on January 15,2023. At around 3:15 p.m. Richard Louis Harper, age 45 escaped from the jail wearing a tan jacket that says "Webster Co Jail", blue jeans, and white shoes. Harper's direction of travel is unknown at this time. He is described as a white male with blue eyes, and gray hair. He is approximately 6’1" tall and weighing approximately 185 pounds.

KSP asks the public to be on the lookout for Harris and if located, please contact KSP Post 2 at 270-676-3313.
