But the origin of cupping therapy in Islam goes back to the 7th century. This therapy was founded by our beloved Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W.W). 
Our Prophet (S.A.W.W) does this therapy by himself and also recommends it to his ummat. According to a Sahabi, our beloved Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W.W.) said: "Indeed, there is a cure in it (hajama)."
This therapy treats several health issues. We called this therapy "Sunnah." This is the Islamic history of cupping therapy. 
There are numerous advantages to cupping. Lower back pain, arthritis pain, and other aches and pains can all be relieved by cupping therapy. It can also be used to deal with diverse forms of pain, such as tooth pain, muscle pain, sciatica, and headaches and migraines. Hijama is a successful remedy for stiff shoulders and necks as it increases blood flow and movement. Urinary issues are all treated by cupping.
If we studied about cupping, we also came to know that it's also used in ancient Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures. Ebers Papyrus, mentioned in the oldest medical text book in the world, describes how cupping therapy was used by Egyptians in 1550 B.C.
