There are many people in the world that claim to be something they are not. Never let a deceiver make you stop believing in goodness of humanity.

We as African Americans have to believe in being an African American. We have to believe in our culture and believe it is just as valid as any other culture in the world. It is a heritage that our elders fought to create in the face of overwhelming hate and oppression. It is our duty to define what it means to be African American and with pride let the world know.

I touched on this a couple of days ago. It is the responsibility of every single African American to help and support the African American community in whatever capacity we are capable of doing. There was a time we all looked out for each other but now too many are only focused on personal gain sometimes at the expense of other African Americans. Whether you are a billionaire or just a worker do everything in your power to help other African Americans.

It is more important than ever that African Americans work on strengthening their economic status for their households and their communities. People need to be able to care for and provide for their families well being. We have too many people trying to making it for themselves and forgetting about other African Americans. We need to make sure that we help and support our brothers and sisters succeed in life as well.

If you know me then you know this is one of my fundamental principles. Over the past couple of weeks it is clear that not everyone feels this way. There was a time when collective work and responsibility was the foundation of African Americans but now there is much division there. Hopefully we can get back to focusing on all African Americans and not just certain groups especially those outside of our community. I am so glad there are many who feel the same way and are working hard for all African Americans.
