So as many of you know, I have a personal directive to always be involved in something that is intended to make the world a better place. This often manifests in a PSA or documentary project.

I have a new humanitarian inspired project I am excited to present to you that I am producing alongside Kevin Nealon whom you probably know from Saturday Night Live, Happy Gilmore, Weeds and many other films and TV series as well as writer Matt Jones.

Our project is titled "A Tremendous Day" and is about a tremendous person. The best way to understand what this project is about is for you to simply watch the short 1.5 minute trailer we created for this project. The link is below.

We are currently raising seed funds to get the project off the ground. In the link below, you can see how you can become an investor in this important project and story we are telling. Read the full blog/ article below. A lot of what he's expressing and suggesting is what I have been discussing with various peers at all levels of the film industry for the true indie-filmmaker. He's got some interesting points. It's worth the read.

MUSIC PEEPS - a really cool arthouse film I am producing needs some indie music from the 90's. Specifically we need an all girl punk band that the lead actress can rock out to in her car (something like Bikini Kill). We also need something a bit more melodic that she can sing along to and that can be male or female led.

Hoping to find some gems that were never massively distributed and that the bands own the rights to their music as this is a small no-budget film and we cannot afford big licensing fees or a music supervisor.

I've got some ideas... but figured I'd throw it out to ya'll!

Anyone have an old Landcruiser they'd like to rent to a movie to use for 5 days in April? 3 will be in Terlingua and the other 2 in Austin on a Stage.

This is for a no-budget art house film but we will pay you some money, detail your car after we are done (Terlingua is dusty!!) and of course insure your car!!

Josh and I are going to enjoy seeing it this Saturday March 9th at the 2pm screening in Albuquerque at the Regal Cottonwood Stadium 16... If you are in ABQ - come join us!!

Location scouting in and around Terlingua… big thanks to Tony Drewry who was our guide and host introducing us to all the right people, places and things to ensure a successful shoot when we return in a couple of months! He’s a great photographer and musician as well! If you wanna film down there - he’s a go to very well connected fixer/ producer I highly recommend!! And fun to be around to boot!

I am thrilled to announce that Chocolate Lizards, will have it’s world premiere at the Dallas International Film Festival!!! .
The film will screen twice. Premiere screening is Sat April 29th at 7:30pm at the historic Texas Theater in Oak Cliff. It will screen again at the Violet Crown a day or two later.

I co-produced his first and maybe only digital film “secrets of a psychopath” in 2013. He was 92 at the time. I was excited for the opportunity as I fondly recalled watching Empire of The Ants when I was a child and being totally engrossed and scared… While the movie I made with him was much like his legacy of B minus quality, I was impressed at how agile, mentally sharp and funny he was. He was 92 showing up every day for a 12 hour shoot and then going home at night and re-writing scenes. I jokingly told his daughter to hide all the pens and paper in their hotel to get him to stop writing. 😜 Remembering this even now gives me inspiration… what will I be doing at 92+?

Headed back down to the valley for another shoot with Rio… this is one of my favorite captures from a shoot with them a few years back. We were on S. Padre island on the bay side. No beach sets on this one but I’m sure it’ll be interesting as it always is.

Another old photo captured a few years back while at Sundance. This was near where I stayed. ‘Twas a majestic drive home each night with the road of glowing trees. While I’m not attending this year, I look forward to my eventual return.

From the set of The Vast of Night… We started our shoot days every day with a beautiful sunset like this… Perhaps it was the film gods way of rewarding us for the grueling 3 weeks of overnight shoots. What a special shoot this was in so many ways, including our daily jaw dropping sunsets. I hope this year brings another special shoot like this one to me…
