👼 SERAPHIM ANGEL 👼 Did you know not all angels are equal? In the Bible, the highest order of angels are the Seraphim angels, and they’re described to have 6 wings! I actually got my inspiration from angel tattoos on Pinterest (search “seraphim angel tattoo there). Instead of the typical sweet angel, I thought this would make the perfect spooky angel makeup look for Halloween!

RHAENYRA TARGARYEN + SYRAX THE DRAGON MAKEUP! 🧝🏻‍♀️🐉 I’m a huge House of the Dragon/Game of Thrones fan, so this was such a treat to do in time for all your Halloween inspo! I did a half Princess Rhaenyra, and half dragon makeup look, which I think is double the fun!

Did you know all the dragons from the show are different colors? I tried to be true to the show/books and depict Rhaenyra’s dragon, Syrax, with golden yellow scales! I added blood because of course it wouldn’t be HOTD/GOT without all the epic deaths! 😱

✨ GOLDEN GODDESS MAKEUP ✨My jaw dropped when I saw ‘s makeup on Rina Sawayama at the F/W ‘22-’23 Schiaparelli Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week show this summer. I knew I wanted to recreate it! It’s not an exact replication, but I hope you like my rendition! THE MAKEUP FAIRY IS BACK! 🧚 It was a ton of fun putting together this Rococo meets elf meets butterfly fairy look! And thank you for patiently waiting while I took a break. My heart breaks for the people of Ukraine: for the precious lives that have been lost, for those who are wounded and at risk, for those who have become internally displaced or have become refugees, and for those bravely standing up to protect their home and country. 🇺🇦💛💙

The makeup look depicts a map of Ukraine with the colors of the national flag. 🇺🇦 The colors represent blue skies over golden wheat fields, and also blue for freedom, and yellow for prosperity. Seeing all the tragedy through the news leaves me feeling helpless, but I hope that I can spread a message of solidarity with Ukraine, and share ideas on how we can help.

4 WAYS WE CAN :
1️⃣ DONATE to well-researched, and vetted organizations working to provide Ukrainians emergency aid and relief.
2️⃣ SHARE VALID RESOURCES + STOP MISINFORMATION: Share important resources and show solidarity for Ukraine, but before hitting that re-share or retweet button, double check that the information is verifiable and from trustworthy sources. Let’s stop the spread of misinformation.
3️⃣ LISTEN & LEARN: Take the time to educate yourself on the historical relationship of Ukraine and Russia, follow verified news sources, and check in with your Ukrainian friends and family.

I had such a hard time narrowing my list of Black heroes to choose from, but I hope you are inspired by their stories! Do you have a favorite Black hero? Let us know in the comments below! Black achievements and Black struggles throughout history are crucial to understanding our collective story as a human race. We are not only celebrating the bravery, resilience, and ingenuity of Black Americans, but also shining a light on the dark reality of an America founded on colonialism, Black slave labor, and the oppression of marginalized groups.

Black History is powerful in that it teaches us how the intersectionality of race creates a world of both privilege and discrimination, and how systemic racism is deeply intertwined in our past and present. And my hope is that as we continue to share and learn from Black history, and push for critical race theory to become a part of our collective education, that we can gain the knowledge and empathy that’s needed to fight for a more equitable world.

DEPRESSION LOOKS DIFFERENT FOR EVERYONE 💔 I’m actually very bubbly and confident in person, and so whenever someone says, “You don’t look like you have depression,” it’s very hurtful, and feels like gaslighting. Today’s makeup is an external, visual representation of the inner turmoil I feel on my darkest days. After struggling with my mental health for over 10 years, I can assure you that DEPRESSION DOESN’T HAVE A LOOK.

While depression manifests differently at various stages of healing, on the darkest days when I’m experiencing panic attacks and feeling utterly hopeless, it feels like a darkness coursing through my veins. It’s claustrophobic, suffocating, and deadening.

I share this as a gentle reminder that APPEARANCES ≠ REALITY, so always be kind. There are so many internal battles we all fight.

I’ve been MIA for a few months to focus on healing and therapy. I’m doing introspective work on my shadow self, and all the internalized trauma and negative coping strategies in my past have been laid bare so I can learn from them and overcome them.

And if you’re struggling too, know that it ALWAYS GETS WORSE BEFORE IT GETS BETTER. Healing is about uncovering unpleasant truths, facing them, and coming out stronger. You’ve got this. All the strength you need is already inside of you. ❤️
