WE ARE COMMUNITY MADE.
Cold Tea Collective started publishing content in 2017, we’ve remained true to our mission: to tell stories that empower the next generation of the Asian diaspora to live their most authentic and fulfilled lives.
This was before #CrazyRichAsians, #TheFarewell, #EverythingEverywhereAllAtOnce, #Beef, #Shogun and many of the stories we get to see today.
But none of this is possible without those who came before us, who paved the way and continue to break barriers to make sure our stories are told for us, and by us.
Congratulations to @pacartsmovement for celebrating your 25th annual San Diego Asian Film Festival!
Thank you to Cold Tea Collective’s volunteers, donors, partners and the community who have supported us along the way and inspire us to keep going.
We are truly community made 💛✨🫰🏼🫶🏼💫

“Stand In” was a stand out, amongst tight competition at the 19th Mighty Asian Moviemaking Marathon (@mamm_vaff) short filmmaking competition of the Vancouver Asian Film Festival (@vaffvancouver). As part of their prize for best film, they will receive a 30-minute meeting with a VP from @lionsgate.
8 teams were selected to take their creative ideas from pitch, to production, to the big screen in Vancouver this weekend. They were paired with experienced and award-winning filmmakers as their mentors as some of them embarked on their very first filmmaking journeys.
Through a 1-minute ultra short or 10 minute short, each film had Asian Canadian cast, crew, and themes that speak to the heart of what it means to be Asian Canadian.
Catch the winners at the upcoming Vancouver Asian Film festival taking place in-person and online from November 7-17. Super early bird tickets now available via @vaffvancouver.
Cold Tea Collective is proud to be a returning media sponsor at the very event that inspired our mission to share stories for us, by us, to empower the next generation of the Asian diaspora to live their most authentic and fulfilled lives.
Congratulations again to all the filmmakers and competition organizers, mentors and volunteers.
