"Sitting in the crystal-infused waiting room of a local Tarot reader, Alance “The Wizard” Ward and Daniel “The Dubious” Frederics discover that they live blocks from each other in Rogers Park, Chicago: two fools, who both have deep roots in the Chicago music scene, both itching for a new beginning. A fast and easy friendship develops. Alternating between their formal practice space and bedroom studios, the alchemical possibilities take form over endless hours of experimentation and inspired editing. A hybrid, unique sound emerges.

Mired in the gunk of cultural decay, post-truth phonies, and surveillance state weirding, Lake Rocks seamlessly restitch and reinterpret old fabrics into new designs, creating angular and catchy glitch-pop anthems that shimmer and pierce—slivers of kaleidoscopic light that splinter the broken debris of the past. We are excited to announce:
The US release of "fickle" from Ukraine's KURL on THURSDAY, FEB 3rd!
"Kurl is a psychedelic pop / trip-hop trio of friends and collaborators from the south of Ukraine. 'fickle' was assembled a bit at a time long-distance during the lockdown, allowing the members to take their time and get everything perfected. Its surface is all pop and mellow, but its themes touch on anxiety, nostalgia, and even death."
